Samsung Galaxy XR Event: Everything That Happened in 10 Minutes
Samsung Galaxy XR Event: Everything That Happened in 10 Minutes – Synopsis
In a groundbreaking announcement, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy XR, a revolutionary multimodal AI headset, marking the start of a new decade dedicated to extended reality (XR) and artificial intelligence (AI). Powered by the Snapdragon XR2 Plus Gen 2 chipset, the Galaxy XR features advanced capabilities that redefine user interactions. Central to its design is Google Gemini, integrated into the new Android XR operating system, allowing intuitive conversations and seamless responses.
The headset excels in three key areas: AI-driven interactions that mimic natural conversations, a sophisticated perception system that recognizes gestures and surroundings, and enhanced hardware designed for extended comfort. Users can experience immersive Google apps like YouTube and Maps in a whole new dimension, complete with 4K resolution and immersive audio.
Samsung’s collaboration with Qualcomm ensures industry-leading performance, enabling applications ranging from immersive gaming to innovative productivity tools like Adobe Pulsar. The headset supports both native games and PC streaming, while AI companion Gemini enriches gameplay by offering tips and real-time assistance.
Available from October 21st for $1,799, the Galaxy XR is poised to revolutionize how we interact with digital environments, offering a level of immersion and connectivity like never before.

I just hope yall give the tri fold phone s pen funtion. But this is nice too
Who is this for? Everything seems so forced, all this stuff you can do on a phone and tablet and now I gotta worry about charging another device. This is niche
i’m confused…is this a Samsung event or Google???
Does it come with night vision ?😂
But can it be recognized by Steam VR that’s the real question. And more importantly, does it have a launcher that’s compatible with steam VR. 🤔
Here are some VR headsets so you can forget that the US government is collapsing around you..
hey Gemini can you make my healthcare more affordable…. no. well just show me a VR rerun of Greys Anatomy Thnx.
Damn, watching this supercut made me lethargic, what more if you're at the event itself.
I never bought a product because of an AI yet.
At that price point no thanks
I don't see the need for any of the AI stuff to be honest. Imagine walking in the streets of NY wearing the headset and using maps… How long before someone just pass by and steal that thing from your head?
For gaming it is not more useful than a standard Quest 3 but at 4K resolution I seriously doubt you can play any AAA game decently… Stardew valley is not Cyberpunk2077 for sure in terms of resources, so I am not sure how AAA games will run unless you stream them from a PC (in which case the variable will be how fast is your connection to support 4K streaming per eye).
For work it seems a better solution than the Apple vision on the paper, but it has the same issues of the Vision… It is big, bulky, and needs a battery connected to it for few hours of operation, so not sure why would you work in this environment when a monitor is way more productive and efficient.
Interesting but as tech novelty; I don't see people rushing out the door to get it anytime soon, at least until it does not reach sub 1000 dollars in price
Way better than apple vision pro and CHEAPER!
Wait, at $1,700 dollars?!?????!????????!??? Apple had better watch out
I do not plan on buying one, because I already have a Vision Pro, but I am hopeful that their YouTube app will now finally come to the Apple App Store. Plus, this will hopefully bring on more people to this new and emerging platform
After using this for several hours, the real world would look so boring
Can’t wait to play @boombeach on this and watch something 🫣
Ai ai ai ai ai ai ai
They just copy apple vision after two years to make worst version of it
Wow a much longer and less intuitive way to find mediocre NY pizza, I’m blown away.
Isn't VR/XR already "cool" enough on its own? Why do they need to keep emphasizing AI with it as if it adds to the appeal of an already cool thing?
Stop with AI. We want virtual reality and games
No thanks google abandons projects too often.
So underwhelming, XR2+? basically a nicer looking quest 3 at triple the price
I think it’s time we all face the uncomfortable fact that technology has taken way too much space and has taken over the real life a bit too much.
We need to cure our collective addiction and actually only use it as a tool
So dumb
Finally Samsung made quest 3 more affordable ❤
My ultimate gaming companion is my son. There's a point for taking work off of people's shoulders, but what's the point of replacing our fun partners?
I must say it doesn't look bad but it did not convinced me to get one. Owning a meta quest 2 and a meta quest 3 for some years, they can do so same things these glasses and apple are doing and much more than these glasses and apple can and they are a lot more cheep. I guess is that you pay for the brand and nothing else. But maybe one day i will try one of these as well and maybe I will updated my idea after, but so far i would not spend 1800 or 3500 on such thing 🙂
This will flop like the Apple vision pro
I thought vision pro was useless. Least this is a cheaper useless
USELESS Gimmick
nobody wants to wear a hockey helmet, so stupid.
make super light glasses that work like the xreal air, but let you move the image from your phone or other device around in the fov, like move the image/input far left or far right so it's out of the way so you can drive or do other stuff with it, and then also make it use a giant fov, but with super light glasses. and NO CAMERAS. NOBODY WANTS CAMERAS ITS CREEPY START TO UNDERSTAND THAT NOBODY WANTS CAMERAS IN THE GLASSES ITS LAME people think it's weird and IT IS. just give us top tier glasses that display your camera's screen but in full 180degree fov with high res, but let you EASILY and QUICKLY move the image out of the way when you need to talk to someone or interact with something. you don't want to block your field of view when you're doing something. and what would be even better would be having wireless high ghz hdmi output so you can play with a friend off one phone. (phones need fast wireless output that you can game with) imagine playing an ar game with a friend and all they have to do is pair their controller to your phone. then either with a usb-c to hdmi cable or usb-c to hdmi splitter you could connect their headset and yours to your phone. that would be groundbreaking and the tech is 1000% possible right now (look at like the peakdo 60ghz hdmi wireless adapters as an example). or just have two or 3 usb-c outputs on your phone, or one output but let it plug into a dock that outputs two hdmi signals to two headsets. that'd be awesome. your phone is fast enough to be a lightweight gaming console and play a lot of older gen games perfectly fine. samsung should leverage that fact and make actually novel hardware that people want to use to play games with friends while being able to see their eyes and their face.
Nobody will buy this
So you are telling me, we can build a neighbours house using google maps and ai before robbering! thanks😊
I just updated my Google cardboard, I'm good till graphics get better. 😎
This is ridiculous…all its main feature is just google gemini love which can have for free on any smartphone…and this doesn’t even sound like samsung just google
4:18 Finally! Gays becoming an interface!!
Do we need ai for gaming? Isn't the point of gaming supposed to be challenging yourself? I get ai, for performance optimization and a few other task.
Amazing….until you have to pay up for prescriptions to make all these ai apps work, otherwise its an expensive on face monitor.
Awesome tech that nobody needs. It will loose its novelty within a few months and then be collecting dust on the shelf. The glasses might be more appealing to the masses.
Overpriced failure.
10 min of random talking clips. Worst recap ever.
AVP seems more human, this seems like it’s designed for cyborgs
Do they not display fake eyes for other people in the room?
way overpriced
I'm still waiting for Samsung's first 3 fold "smartphone".
I got an iPhone ad before watching the Samsung event. Nice
