Με εμβληματικά άλμπουμ όπως The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (1972), Station to Station (1976), τη λεγόμενη «Βερολινέζικη τριλογία» Low/”Heroes”/Lodger (1977–79), Scary Monsters (1980), το πολυπλατινένιο Let’s Dance (1983), αλλά και τα ύστερα The Next Day (2013) και Blackstar (2016), έχτισε μια δισκογραφία σπάνιας συνοχής και τόλμης. Παράλληλα διέπρεψε στον κινηματογράφο: The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976), Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence (1983), The Hunger (1983), Labyrinth (1986), Basquiat (1996) και άλλες εμφανίσεις επιβεβαίωσαν το υποκριτικό του εκτόπισμα. Στις περιοδείες του —Ziggy Stardust Tour, Isolar, Serious Moonlight (1983), Glass Spider (1987), Sound+Vision (1990), A Reality Tour (2003–04)— διαμόρφωσε το μέτρο του μεγάλου ροκ θεάματος.
Το “Cat People (Putting Out Fire)” είναι μία από τις πιο ατμοσφαιρικές στιγμές του Bowie. Συνεργασία με τον Giorgio Moroder, γράφτηκε για το soundtrack της ταινίας Cat People (1982) του Paul Schrader —γνωστή στη Γαλλία ως “La Féline”— με πρωταγωνίστρια τη Nastassja Kinski. Serious Moonlight, A Reality Tour),

Such energy such a voice for it too
Hideouts are only hideouts if no one knows where they are
Do you remember yet?
You should have paid more attention to herstory instead of this flimsy history we have shoved down our throats ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Amazing! My second favorite is movie
LOVED this film. 🙂 Remember going to see it with my dad actually. :))
This film was so well done. Could have been so campy and laughable. But everything came together WELL. Getting David Bowie to do the title track, casting the very beautiful Nastassia Kinski….getting her to do the nudity and the "sexually provacative" scenes–which I'm kind of surprised they got away with…in a mainstream "erotic-horror film".
The nudity was "necessary" and tastefully done. I don't think anything was "over the top". So easy to "go too far" with nudity een in a mainstream film from Hollywood. To the pont where you think "..what was the poin?". They didn't dot hat in Cat People.
The cast good actors too. Known actors. The violence was also "necessary" –to show the confrontations with the black panthers…likely how "it would happen"….e.g. Ed Begley Jr loosing an arm, the flow of blood….forget if he died from blood loss…
Any ways…mis the days when Hollywood was able to put out original and "risky" fims like this one…could have bombed if they made enough mistakes…or the "right mistakes"..heh…one of those "fail or cuceed films " (like the Chistopher Reeve Superman film…hd that film failed …we wouldn't have al the Superhero films that came after it…)…
Side note—Malcolm MacDowl who played Ntassia Kinski's character's brother…was in a very risque film years before with Peter O'Toole called Caligula—a joint venture with Penthouse Magaine…which had actual full blown sex…no censorship…like a porno. And they got away with it…they came close to doing that again in Cat People….begs the question…WHAT IF….?there's never been another Caligula…
Inglorious bastards great song and appropriate for the final chapter

Happy would be 78th birthday, Mr. Bowie 🙏🏾 I'm sure you're entertaining the angels with your phenomenal voice as we appreciate this masterpiece here on earth 😇 🕊️
One of Malcolm McDowell's absolutely best performances, his chance for showing his prowess as a physical actor, and he does not disappoint ….
"Judgement (British spelling/Judgment (American spelling) made can never bend…"
Absolutely perfect 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Who is listening in 2025?
Love this song! Been so long since I've seen this movie, but I recall it being good, for its time. It would be considered campy now. Love David Bowie and miss him being on the planet and putting out more great music. R.I.P. David.
This is the best version of the track
1 of David Bowie best song👌👍🫶❤️👏👏👏👏👏👏 & that black phanter 😍👌 Number 1 of fav. animal ❤️❤️❤️😘💎..But it’s so sad that it’s so few of them left😔💔😢
2025 anybody. This will be a classic forever
あ!
not surprising… a muslim woman offering a girl – such a religion of love
One of my all-time fav!!! 🔝🔨👌👍👏❤️✌️
Huge bowie fan. Nothing but great songs, and this is his best
I read the short story as a kid, long before I watched the movie. It was in a miscellany book of horror stories. Nice entertainment, but nothing more. Yet that song and the video catches me. It's an interesting variation of the werewolf theme.
Heavy heavy heavy soul and spirit
See these eyes of green… I can stare for a thousand years! Timeless song❤! Crank it up!!
👏👏👏
Bast

@Tracey O'Callaghan
❤❤❤
Another Giorgio Moroder masterpiece. And Bowie.
one of the best themes of David Bowie
See these eyes, so green
I can stare for a thousand years
Colder than the moon
It's been so long
Feel my blood enraged
It's just the fear of loosing you
Don't you know my name?
Well, you've been so long
And I've been putting out fire
With gasoline
See these eyes, so red
Red like jungle burning bright
Those who feel me near
Pull the blinds and change their minds
It's been so long
Still this pulsing night
A plague I call a heartbeat
Just be still with me
You wouldn't believe what I've been through
You've been so long
Well, it's been so long
And I've been putting out the fire with gasoline
Putting out the fire
With gasoline
See these tears, so blue
An ageless heart that can never mend
These tears can never dry
A judgement made can never bend
See these eyes, so green
I can stare for a thousand years
Just be still with me
You wouldn't believe what I've been through
You've been so long
Well, it's been so long
And I've been putting out the fire with gasoline
Putting out fire
With gasoline
well, it's been so long
(Been so long) I've been putting out fire
(Been so long) and it's been so long
(Been so long) been putting out fire
(Been so long) it's been so long
(Been so long) been putting out fire
(Been so long)
Been so long (so long, so long)
Been so long (so long, so long)
Been putting out fire (been so long, so long, so long)
Been putting out fire (been so long, so long, so long)
Been so long
been putting out fire
(Been so long, so long, so long) been putting out fire
(Been so long, so long, so long) been so long
Been so long (so long, so long)
Been so long (so long, so long)
