Το «Are You Ready?»
Παρότι το πρώτο τους άλμπουμ Get It On (1968) δεν έκανε μεγάλη αίσθηση, μια εμφάνιση στο Miami Pop Festival άνοιξε την πόρτα στην Columbia και η μπάντα αποκτά την ευκαιρία που της άξιζε.
Το ομώνυμο άλμπουμ Are You Ready (1970) μάς έδωσε το τραγούδι που έμελλε να γίνει το σήμα τους — το single έφτασε στο #14 του Billboard Hot 100.
Το 1971 αναγκάστηκαν να αλλάξουν το όνομά τους σε PG&E και να διευρύνουν τον ήχο προσθέτοντας πνευστά και κρουστά — μια εποχή που κατέληξε σε εμφανίσεις σε κινηματογραφικά πλαίσια, όπως στο Tell Me That You Love Me, Junie Moon του Otto Preminger.
Παρ’ όλα αυτά, όταν ακούς το «Are You Ready?»

I'm sorry this song does nothing for me, I never knew it existed, and now that I've heard it can go back to not existing to me again.
FANTASTIC AND GREAT COULD ON WALLS DOWN FOR MY TOO ON THEM!!!!
Great!
First R-n-r show I ever saw at the auditorium of Broadway Jr High 1970-71. They were loud. My dad took me to see the headliner herbie Mann. He said, you smell that, that's Marijuana. I was like, what, where. I didn't smell anything, and I wonder how he knew what it smelled like. That was the 1st show of hundreds since
56 years later the band & song stills ROCKS !
"Even so, come soon, Lord Jesus, come."
For Your bride is ready!!!!!!!!!
Shades of Chicago , BST , Electric Flag and anything with Al Kooper in
Well this is a pretty average song to put out as a single. Nothing there to listen again to
Great band, I got to see them 5 or 6 times they were at all of the different pop festivals Great memories 😀
2026 and it still gives! 🎶🎶
No love for the lead guitar? I knew Kenny. I worked with him in the early 90's for a couple years. Stand up guy. He passed a few years back. He had a band here in Chicago called Chicago Gas and Electric. Kenny could shred.
People get ready – get your hearts in order- because The Messiah, Jesus, is coming back soon to take home those who love Him.

Still one of my favorite songs in the world!!! Love it!!!
My funeral song
I had the good fortune to hear them in Seattle in 1969 at the Eagles Auditorium.
Still in my top 5 favorite concerts ever!
RIP, Glenn Schwartz

One of the greatest bands of its era, sadly didnt get the status many of their peers did. This stuff NEVER goes stale.
My first concert at the Spectrum in Philly in 1968. Steppenwolf was supposed to headline but never showed up. PG&E rocked!

Was 19 in college listening to this back in 1970! Classic and time does not diminish this powerful message. Still have the LP. This was back when all genera of music was played on popular stations 🙌
