Στη διάρκεια του υλικού ακούμε φράσεις που δεν αποφεύγουν την ωμότητα, όπως: “I’m fucked absolutely fucked but I’m pleased I’m pleased I’ve done it.”
Τι είναι Deathmatch Στο βίντεο εξηγείται σαφώς ότι “Deathmatch wrestling is a more hardcore, extreme version of professional wrestling. So glass, barbed wire, drawing pins, anything sharp that would probably make someone bleed.” Η προέλευσή του αναφέρεται στην επιρροή από την Ιαπωνία και το δημοφιλές tape “King of the Deathmatch”, και περιγράφεται ως ένα σύγχρονο είδος θεάματος που, όπως λέγεται, “is the closest thing we’ve got in the modern day to the gladiator arenas, back in Roman times.”
Άλλες στιγμές του transcript είναι προσωπικές και ανεπίδεκτες φτιασίδωσης — για παράδειγμα όταν ο αφηγητής εξομολογείται πως “She’s my reason for living.” Οι συζητήσεις γύρω από τη μνήμη, τις εγκεφαλικές κακώσεις και την ψυχική υγεία είναι αποκαλυπτικές: “I didn’t want to live, suicidal. Didn’t want, didn’t want to live.” Το πάθος για το άθλημα συνυπάρχει με αμφιβολίες για το μέλλον: “I know this is definitely the last year… there’s no more after this.”
Το θέαμα και το κόστος του Στο βίντεο δεν λείπουν οι εικόνες και οι περιγραφές από το show — οι φράσεις “I am number one!” και “Fuck you Iceman, fuck you!” Παράλληλα, υπάρχει και η εκτίμηση από συναδέλφους και οπαδούς — φράσεις όπως “They appreciated what I’d done, they did. You know what I mean? They were chanting for me to come back.”

watchin' my TV Been checkin' out the news until my eyeballs fail to see I mean to say that every day is just another rotten mess And when it's gonna change, my friends, is anybody's guess So I'm watchin' and I'm waitin' Hopin' for the best Even think I'll go to prayin' Every time I hear 'em sayin' That there's no way to delay that trouble comin' every day No way to delay that trouble comin' every day Wednesday I watched the riot, I seen the cops out on the street Watched 'em throwin' rocks and stuff and chokin' in the heat Listened to reports about the whisky passin' 'round Seen the smoke and fire and the market burnin' down Watched while everybody on his street would take a turn To stomp and smash and bash and crash and slash and bust and burn And I'm watchin' and I'm waitin' Hopin' for the best Even think I'll go to prayin' Every time I hear 'em sayin' That there's no way to delay that trouble comin' every day No way to delay that trouble comin' every day Well, you can cool it you can heat it 'Cause, baby, I don't need it Take your TV tube and eat it And all that phony stuff on sports and all the unconfirmed reports You know I watched that rotten box until my head began to hurt From checkin' out the way the newsmen say they get the dirt Before the guys on channel so-and-so, further they assert That any show they'll interrupt To bring you news if it comes up They say that if the place blows up They'll be the first to tell Because the boys they got downtown are workin' hard and doin' swell And if anybody gets the news Before it hits the street they say that no one blabs it faster Their coverage can't be beat And if another woman driver Gets machine-gunned from her seat They'll send some joker with a brownie and you'll see it all complete So I'm watchin' and I'm waitin' Hopin' for the best Even think I'll go to prayin' Every time I hear 'em sayin' That there's no way to delay that trouble comin' every day No way to delay that trouble comin' every day Hey, you know something people? I'm not black but there's a whole lots a times I wish I could say I'm not white Well, I seen the fires burnin' and the local people turnin' On the merchants and the shops who used to sell their brooms and mops And every other household item Watched the mob just turn and bite 'em And they say it served 'em right Because a few of them are white And it's the same across the nation, black and white discrimination Yellin' "you can't understand me!" And all that other jazz they hand me In the papers and TV and all that mass stupidity That seems to grow more every day Each time you hear some nitwit say He wants to go and do you in 'Cause the color of your skin Just don't appeal to him No matter if it's black or white because he's out for blood tonight You know we gotta sit around at home and watch this thing begin But I bet there won't be many left to see it really end 'Cause the fire in the street ain't like the fire in the heart And in the eyes of all these people don't you know that this could start? On any street, in any town, in any state if any clown Decides that now's the time to fight For some ideal he thinks is right And if a million more agree, there ain't no great society As it applies to you and me Our country isn't free And the law refuse to see if all that you can ever be Is just a lousy janitor Unless your uncle owns a store You know that five in every four Just won't amount to nothin' more Than watchin' rats go across the floor And make up songs about being poor Blow your harmonica, son!

The difference between Foley and Funk doing a death match and 2 random Brits doing it, is Foley and Funk were wrestlers doing a death match. The 2 British guys are 2 British guys doing a spectacle.
The closest thing we have to gladiators fighting in the Roman Colosseum is definitely not death matches. If anything its MMA, and this is coming from a lifetime wrestling fan.
Wow, this was such a raw and honest documentary! I really appreciate how VICE covers stories most people don’t know about. The storytelling is so engaging and eye-opening
Good documentary. I don't follow death match wrestling so not familiar with Iceman but this was very well done. The father-son bond is inspiring.
So, we can talk about Fight Club?!
26:51 Paul Lameman giving a hype speech
18:12 is the ref the same ref who did the bryan danielson vs nigel mcguinness unified 2006 match?
That intro was very gay lol
More Outlaw Mudshows.
Deathmatch wrestling is just a bunch of dudes and girls who weren't good at wrestling, so they do this. This isnt wrestling.
Is this the fallout of English inbreeding? I mean no disrespect, but we all know inbreeding was the norm in England for some time……
Nice…Vice!!!🎉

3:07 "ere, Jack lad. You know what would be a fooking good idea fer' show tonaaght? Nail me ear t'canvas".

"Outlaw, mudshow, garbage wrestling"…. Jim Cornette
Its hard to find any Jack Harrop matches where he isn't fighting his Dad
they all suck
These guys are having a death match with the Wendy's drive thru. They should put donut holes on those mouse traps and see if they can stop themselves from eating them.
Vice is on a redemption arc, and I’m all here for it
Women say – men will do absolutely anything except go to therapy.
In all due respect the father could use some therapy and a regiment of medication. He seems like a good guy but very unhappy and unbalanced.
You’ve watched beyond the mat-now it’s time for beyond the fat 😂
Not a sustainable career. It’s a quick way to become addicted to pain medication.
I like the Dad and Son. Good dudes
Love from Toronto Canada 🇨🇦
Bizarre stuff. Theyre basically just torturing themselves for from what I can make out, is no reason whatsoever.
Does his shirt say Moob World Order?
and all that for a crowd of 6 people lol
I’ve seen Iceman and Jack Harrop at live shows a few times at RISE. They always have crazy matches.
The whole team put on nothing else I’ve seen in the UK and can only really be compared to CZW in terms of wild spots the wrestlers are willing to put there bodies through for our entertainment
Go on jack lad!
Drinking Trulys is so hardcore.
