10,000-Mile Update: Our Journey with the 2024 Subaru Solterra
Join us as we reach a significant milestone in our long-term exploration of the 2024 Subaru Solterra! After 11 months of suburban adventures, our electric SUV has just surpassed the 10,000-mile mark, and we’re excited to share our insights and experiences.
From the moment we took the Solterra out for its first spin, we were struck by its unique cockpit design, complete with a high-mounted gauge pod and a steering wheel that has a distinctly modern shape. While it took some adjusting, it adds a touch of sleek sophistication and a jet-fighter vibe, making each drive feel exhilarating—especially during the busy morning commutes.
One of the standout features of the Solterra is its quiet operation, complemented by a robust sound system that turns daily drives into enjoyable experiences. Subaru’s renowned safety systems are a constant companion, providing reminders to keep our attention on the road. The forward visibility is excellent, further bolstered by a standard blind-spot monitoring system, though it sometimes errs on the side of caution.
Inside, the rugged aesthetic matches Subaru’s adventurous spirit, but we did find ourselves wishing for a bit more cargo space—the current 23.8 cubic feet can fill up quickly for those who love to explore.
Throughout our journey, the Solterra has proven itself as a reliable partner for suburban life, blending style, safety, and sustainability seamlessly.
