1,500-Mile Update: Our Long-Term Experience with the 2024 Fiat 500e
In the playful spirit of cinematic car chases, reminiscent of the 2003 remake of "The Italian Job," our long-term relationship with the 2024 Fiat 500e has proven to be just as exhilarating. This compact all-electric vehicle has become our go-to choice for navigating through bustling city streets, and with the odometer now just over 1,500 miles, it’s time to share our thoughts.
The Fiat 500e excels in urban environments, thanks to its short wheelbase, allowing us to turn on a dime. The lively electric motor provides the instant torque needed for quick getaways, making it a joy to maneuver in and out of traffic—even next to towering SUVs, where size can feel intimidating. Fortunately, the surprisingly quiet cabin helps reduce any anxiety from our close encounters.
Winter presented a real test for the 500e. While we missed the heated seats of our previous rose-gold Fiat tester, this base RED model delivered impressively—managing a range of 135 to 138 miles on a full charge, even with the heater cranked up. This performance is closely aligned with the EPA’s estimate of 141 miles, proving its capability in colder months.
