What a handsome old fellow, I hope his special someone takes him home soon. Seniors are delightful and donât ask for much beyond, love, comfort and good food. I currently have three senior large breed dogs and canât have more due to local regulations, otherwise Iâd snatch up this old soul and ride off into the sunset with him. Share this far and wide, letâs get Milton a home! This is why I donate monthly to HFP, with gratitude for all you do.đđŸđŸ
Senior animals are so chill

Great rescue!
That was a dog who gave up on life already when you got to him. Glad you were in time and show him there is still a lot in life to live for.
Wow ! That was intense, Thanks HFP for saving Milton !! And a big s/o to the man who fed him.
So tragic this little guy was dumped obviously. We are becoming like the poor countries who have horrific diseased and abused animals lying in plain sight. Thanks to the man who called you. I contribute monthly to you. God Bless! I HOPE this precious soul has a pain free future life of love.
That was awful! Thank You! What a SWEET BOY!!đ
Abraços do đ§đ·
I don't understand why are people still abandoning their pets .. people please stop doing this cruelty.. is best to give them to someone else or take the pet to the animal shelter.. I have never seeing a dog this way either. Pets are forever not temporary..
Maggots do an amazing job of removing infected & dead tissue, preventing further infection & more severe conditions like gangrene developing. They are a problem when all the dead tissue has been eaten, or when flies lay their eggs on an animal's coat where their poop & urine has been allowed to build up; when the maggots don't have dead or infected tissue to feed on, they will eat healthy tissue, & can do incredible damage especially on strays or wild animals & those neglected enough to be allowed to get in such a filthy state, which probably mean there is also a long, matted coat on animals that don't shed, so the maggots could be feasting away beneath all of that, unseen until attempts are made to clean up the animal, or it's condition has deteriorated so dramatically that there's a noticeable change to its behaviour or it has collapsed. So, if you see an animal with a wound that is infested with maggots, please don't think the maggots are a wound treatment & can just be left to deal with any infection, that you don't need to intervene, as those maggots don't just magically disappear once all the diseased tissue is removed! When that stage is reached, all those maggots, & any more fly eggs MUST immediately be removed to prevent them feasting on healthy tissue. Our assistance is still very much needed, with antibiotics helping an animal fight infection far better than maggots, & the debriding & closing of the wound preventing further infection, or further infestation of maggots, & speeding up healing time with the reduction of the surface area of an open wound. đ„°

Thanks for saving Milton! Between the maggot-infested open wound, the gallstones, the tumor and the pneumonia, his healing, survival and subsequent transformation are miraculous, to say the least! May this lovely senior gentleman get the forever home that he so richly deserves! đđđđđđŸđâ€ïžâđ©čđĄ
