Elon Musk’s Tesla has been making waves in the robotics industry with its Optimus Gen 2 humanoid robot, promising to revolutionize the way we think about automation. However, there are a few key details that Musk hasn’t told us about the Optimus robot, and it’s important for potential customers to be aware of these factors.
Firstly, the $20,000 price tag for Optimus may seem affordable, but there are hidden costs involved. The software updates for the robot can be quite expensive, adding to the overall cost of ownership. Additionally, Tesla has announced that they will prioritize delivering the robots to companies first, potentially leaving individual customers waiting longer for their own Optimus robot.
Furthermore, Tesla’s rental program for Optimus will be implemented at a later date, meaning customers may not be able to easily access the robot for short-term use. And finally, there are regulations in place for customers who own an Optimus robot, which could impact how they are able to use the robot in their daily lives.
Overall, while Elon Musk’s vision for the Tesla Bot may be grand, it’s important for customers to be aware of these details before making a purchase. Stay tuned for more updates on when the Gen 3 Optimus robot will be available for sale and what new features it will bring to the table.

It, would be a relief to have a humanoid like Optimus, that Can follow instructions and get on with the Task without replying back, but there has to be a kill switch for emergency.

I think it's very cool.. Athletes have such a term – Withdrawal syndrome.. When You have thousands of robots working in Your company every day, I don't think it's a good idea to learn the term withdrawal syndrome.. Robots are cool!!! Robots are a miracle!!! Robots are the future of humanity!!! If I had $20,000 free now, I would not hesitate to give such a robot to my Mother!!!
So, that's 20K for the base model plus the cost of updates, plus the cost of insuring your robot, plus any cost of any needed repairs.
I suspect that eventually, buyers of these robots will also have to pay for a subscription to Tesla Bot.
Not only that but I'm sure that each state and/or local municipality will figure out ways to charge owners for actually owning or renting one of these.
They haven't even started selling them and it appears that it's already getting more and more legally complicated simply to buy one, let alone owning one.
