The focus on improving battery performance and longevity is crucial for the future of EVs.
Are the projected range improvements for the Model Y realistic under real-world conditions?
Are there any potential compatibility issues with existing charging infrastructure?
Will Tesla’s supply chain be able to support the increased production of 4680 cells?
Will Tesla face any regulatory challenges with the introduction of 4680 cells in the Model Y?
Im excited to see how the Junipers rumored upgrades will compare to other electric vehicles on the market.
The possibility of a 95 kWh battery could make the Model Y Juniper a game-changer for Tesla.
Could the new battery technology lead to increased insurance costs for Tesla vehicles?
Im curious about the potential impact of the new battery on the Junipers resale value.
How will the 4680 battery advancements impact Tesla’s competitive advantage in the EV market?
Can the Juniper’s battery handle frequent fast charging without degrading?
Are there concerns about battery disposal and recycling with the larger battery pack?
How will the battery upgrades affect the Model Y Juniper’s towing capacity?
Could the larger battery lead to increased production times and delivery delays?
Will the Juniper’s battery improvements translate into real-world performance gains?
Due to imposed tariffs on imported Chinese EVs, batteries & software, it is highly unlikely that the 2025 Juniper in the US will use M3P batteries. There has been talk of Tesla licensing CATL battery tech & building a Giga factory to make them, but that would take a few years. By the 2027 model year, the tech will likely have improved, so the question is, after spending 5.5 – 10 billion on a new battery plant, could it be easily adapted to a newer battery build?
I am still not able to understand the fixation of EV industry with the geometry of batteries vis a vis the electrochemistry. The electrode materials can be altered and modified, dopants can be added in 4680 too. 4680 is dimension denoting code not some fixed electrochemistry. Similarly prismatic or blade type CATL M3P too can have more modification in electrodes, electrolytes to achieve more energy density etc. I see in the future some regulatory body might be needed globally to standardize the battery geometry and dimensions, just like DVD size is same globally and the socket for USB C is same. Because too many variations in battery geometries is detrimental to cross platform adaptability.
