Ukraine: Everyday life in the war-torn city of Kharkiv | DW Documentary

Kharkiv is just 30 kilometers from the Russian border and still fending off Russian advances. Air raid sirens have long become part of everyday life in the Ukrainian city. When Russia launched its full-scale invasion into Ukraine in February 2022, residents took shelter underground. Early on in the crisis, subway stations were converted to schools and theaters relocated underground. Today, there are even plans to construct a subterranean recreational park. What does everyday life look like in a war-torn city? Carolina Chimoy visited Kharkiv to find out.
