"Most of the House Was Gone": Severe U.S. Storm Claims Lives and Leaves Communities Reeling
In a devastating series of severe storms that swept across the U.S. South and Midwest, at least 23 lives have been tragically lost. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear confirmed that 14 of those deaths occurred in the Commonwealth, with many communities now grappling with the aftermath of this catastrophic event.
The storms wreaked havoc late Friday night, culminating in what many residents describe as a powerful tornado that touched down in Laurel County. Sheriff John Root reported numerous injuries, with first responders scrambling to assist those affected. The sense of chaos and fear was palpable as residents battled the storm, unprepared for the sheer force and destruction it would unleash.
Leo Radnour, a resident of Morganfield, Kentucky, recounted his harrowing experience. “I couldn’t see the tail or nothing. It was like it was lifting everything up,” he said, capturing the terrifying uncertainty and confusion that gripped the community in those critical moments.
As of Saturday morning, the National Weather Service had yet to officially confirm whether a tornado had indeed struck the area, although the damage left behind tells a harrowing story. Homes were obliterated, with reports indicating that "most of the house was gone," starkly illustrating the storm’s ferocity.
The storm’s impact was felt beyond Kentucky, as seven lives were lost in Missouri and two in Virginia, demonstrating a broad path of destruction across multiple states. As communities mourn, the focus now shifts to recovery efforts and the daunting task of rebuilding in the wake of such loss.
As the sun rises on this grim reality, the resilience of those affected will be tested as they begin to navigate the challenging road ahead.

Good luck getting some FEMA help now that Trump crashed that.
Did FEMA help?
It will be alright , this is all part of gods plan.
Sorry 😢
Last storm season FEMA said they have no money. You know why? Biden rented illegal aliens $500 a night hotels in New York. FEMA money wasted on criminal aliens and now clowns here are saying it's Trumps fault. All you who voted for Joe Biden got what YOU voted for. Trump 2028
I already seen this nothing's changed Raymond Paul Sullivan III me myself and I and him RPS 111 meet me at God and the Creator and the devil are working together May 2025
Glad to see some survivors. Your governor is Andy Beshear, so maybe you'll get some help. POTUS will not offer you any.
Are people supposed to feel pity for this?
No more FEMA to help…sad…sad…sad.
GOVERNMENT MAN MADE weather war on humanity .
The Chief Minister of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi, has demolished 2 mosques in his state in retaliation for Pakistan's victory and has detained and tortured hundreds of Muslims. Where are the human rights contractors?
I am always amazed that people walk around destruction like this in sneakers! Broken glass, twisted metal, etc. Many people must get injuries from the debris. What a mess.
Sad for the victims & their families. Now it's going to get worse after trump gutting FEMA & other Government agencies that can help b/c he wanted to cut Gov. costs to justify NOT raising taxes on the rich. Most of Kentucky voted for this.
Oh good grief. Praying never changes the weather patterns no matter which supernatural being you choose. The intensity of these storms is getting worse every year and will continue because we refuse to expose the fossil fuel industry that is causing this. These companies donated millions to trump. See how that works. He has also deleted all references to global warming from all federal documents. I am not an environmental scientist but my daughter is. She gives it 75 years before 180,000 species becomes extinct. Humans simply don't want to admit that it is happening just like they didn't want to admit smoking causes cancer.
You all chose to live there. DEAL WITH IT
🤣😆
Pray for those lost and for courage and hope for all affected❤. From Canada😢
That’s the price for voting for Donald Trump
Poor English in subtitle
Please help these people rebuild their lives. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
No FEMA to help!
