Trump’s New Travel Ban Sparks Criticism, Concern
In a significant policy shift reminiscent of his previous term, U.S. President Donald Trump has reintroduced a travel ban targeting individuals from 12 countries deemed by his administration to pose security threats. The new executive order, set to take effect on June 9, aims to restrict access to the United States from nations that the Trump administration has labeled as harboring “hostile attitudes” towards the U.S.
The countries affected by this travel ban include Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. Additionally, travel restrictions will also apply to residents from seven other unnamed nations. Critics are voicing alarm over the blanket nature of these restrictions, which many argue unfairly penalize individuals based on their nationality rather than their personal circumstances.
During a video announcement, Trump asserted that nationals from the listed countries pose "terrorism-related" risks and concerns regarding public safety. He emphasized issues such as visa overstays and the inadequacy of vetting processes in these countries. The rationale behind the ban, he claims, is rooted in national security concerns and the imperative to keep America safe from potential threats.
In a related move, Trump signed a proclamation that will hinder almost all foreign nationals intending to attend Harvard University from entering the U.S., raising additional eyebrows regarding the administration’s approach to international education and collaboration. This policy could potentially alienate scholars and students from around the world, further isolating the United States on the global stage.
The backlash against the travel ban has been swift, with advocacy groups and international observers condemning it as discriminatory and unjust. They argue that such policies exacerbate xenophobia and undermine the principles of inclusivity and tolerance that define a democratic society. As the June deadline approaches, the debate surrounding this controversial measure intensifies, highlighting the ongoing tensions between national security and human rights in the realm of U.S. immigration policy.

There's really no problem with this.
Dudes looking really orange 🍊
“ the freedom that we experience here” is gone thanks to fascist Trump.
We should be doing this in Canada starting with India
No it doesn't it promotes inspiration to follow
Many countries are very upset they were not included in the travel ban.
As he should great job POTUS.
Trump is trying to put the pressure on those countries to sign his trading deal so he can say boat loads of countries are begging to sign my deal.
Only thing I agree with Trump
Who on earth would want to go to the US right now, even for five minutes?
Why didnt he do this when the corona virus started? Also i think he knows something we dont..guess all those people he is banning are coming to Canada yay!!🎉
Blah blah blah this should be worldwide not just the USA ,but we all know the King of England loves the Quran 😅😅😅
What is missing in the comments is that the countries banned harbour terrorists. The US is correct. Whenyou let certain counries in, they do not assimilate. Canada and the UK have found this out (but do norhing be ause of the Liberal and Labour govts.)
This guys such a DB
Does anyone even want to go to the US anymore? Pretty sure most of the people traveling from these countries aren't criminals and if they are they'd just make fake documents stating they are from another country to get around the ban.
Lol, they're all the corrupt countries that suck up to china 😂 Good on Trump
Americans are claiming other countries are dangerous. Actually, America is the most dangerous country in this Planet. The most dangerous countries accusing others to be dangerous. How pathetic that sounds.
I strongly support this. Some countries consistently fail to curb extremist and terrorist ideologies, lack reliable documentation to properly verify individuals, harbor terrorists, or are statistically shown to have significantly higher rates of serious crimes among their immigrants compared to others.
Man's got a point
The Jew disagrees, how surprising. Ask him if Israel should reinstate travel between Gaza
Looking for more briberies again. Try banning European nations, Canada and Saudi. This man the only US leader who caused so much hatred around the world.
I’m surprised he hasn’t banned Canadians….i mean, we are a force to be reckoned with…..ELBOWS UP CANADA!!! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
I am really surprised that Canada, the EU and Australia are not on the list. Trump thinks we are all really nasty. Ironic considering how countries are issuing travel warnings to the US. I will not step foot into the US for a very long time
Racist comments allowed but my comments scrubbed…yew tube 👊🏼
what about the lunatics who want to attemtp to annex other countries, they should be on the list and be banned. they are also a major threat.
"Melting pot of different cultures".
Global News reporting on this … and not the immigration crisis in Canada? Canadian media for you all.
They'll chisel his face into Mt. Rushmore when this is all said and done
Canada should do the same !!!
You do realize once your government issues a travel warning there is no guarantee they will be able to save you if a war breaks out. Just don't travel to countries that are hostile.
Very good,he’s doing what’s the best for his country. And is going on in Canada? We are in bigger whole.
Good for Trump .
CCP minions need to be banned from Canada .
Canada should start with a few bans as well
WHO CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely so based
It is racist to ban people that need to escape! Awful.
Canada should do the same!!
The irony is that the arab countries which send the "trouble makers" aren't on his list, Yeah, arab money.
These are all extremely poor countries – he’s stopping visitors to stop “illegal migrants” – people who need to claim Asylum. People who need help escaping starvation and brutal regimes.
🇨🇦🇺🇦🇨🇦🙏🏻❤️
It seems pretty clear that the glory days in North America are coming to an end. For a few hundred years, Europeans were showing up here, finding abundance and opportunity, and taking advantage of it to build their lives.
Now, we're running out of abundance and opportunity. Private equity firms are buying up all the housing supply, and younger generations are being promised a lifetime of renting instead. We can't manufacture goods here, because the cost of living for us would jack the price up to astronomical levels that nobody would pay. We can't take care of people born here, let alone folks from abroad.
The money is in a funnel, and it's all going upwards. The abundance is being squirreled away in offshore accounts and assets. The chance to make a decent living and raise a family is being wiped out, even though we're all more productive than we've ever been before.
And we're going to blame people who have it worse?
I know you think you're gonna help stop the bleeding by locking up all our borders. But the people with the knives aren't immigrants. And they're not going to stop cutting us.
I wont even take a connecting flight through the US.
What's with the clown music in the background ?
Oh that's right, I almost forgot –> Clown news require clown music, of course.
😂Those countries have not offered Trump a $490 Million dollar Boeing 747-8 tribute like the Qataris and the mineral resources agreement worth $1 trillion by Ukraine.
Well, lets look up the countries on the ban list.
Afghanistan is a country rich in mineral resources, with an estimated $1 trillion worth of untapped wealth. These resources include copper, iron ore, lithium, rare earth elements, gold, coal, oil, and gas, among others. Also, the their refusal to return the approximately $7 billion worth of U.S. military equipment left behind during the 2021 withdrawal. Which, they consider these weapons to be Afghanistan's state assets.
Myanmar possesses a wide array of natural resources, including valuable minerals like jade, rubies, and other gemstones, as well as oil, gas, and timber. It also holds significant deposits of various other minerals and fossil fuels, including coal, petroleum, and natural gas. Furthermore, Myanmar has a rich agricultural sector, producing rice, sugarcane, and beans.
Chad possesses a variety of natural resources, including petroleum, gold, natron, uranium, limestone, sand, gravel, kaolin, and salt. Oil is a major natural resource and a significant export, contributing to Chad's economy. Other resources include gold, with an emerging mining sector, and natron (sodium carbonate) which is also exported, according to the International Trade Administration.
The Republic of Congo possesses significant natural resources, including abundant petroleum reserves, extensive forestlands, and various mineral deposits. The country's main economic activity revolves around oil extraction and export, with a focus on wood and wood products.
Notice How the DRC is not on list
The DRC is rich in natural resources, including minerals like copper and cobalt, hydroelectric potential, arable land, and biodiversity. Mining is a major industry, and the DRC is a significant producer of diamonds, gold, and other minerals.
Equatorial Guinea is rich in natural resources, particularly oil and gas reserves, which have driven its economy. It also possesses other minerals like gold, uranium, and diamonds, though these remain largely undeveloped. The country also has arable land and is a major exporter of oil, natural gas, timber, cocoa, and fish.
Eritrea . Eritrea's natural resources include minerals like gold, copper, zinc, and potash, as well as oil and natural gas. The country's Red Sea coastline also offers rich marine biodiversity and tourism potential. Not to mention its strategic location.
Haiti possesses several natural resources, including gold, bauxite, copper, calcium carbonate, marble, and potentially significant oil reserves. While some resources like bauxite and copper have been mined in the past, Haiti's mineral wealth is still largely untapped, with estimates suggesting a value of around $20 billion for gold alone. Additionally, Haiti has hydropower potential from its river environments.
Not to mention, Haiti's historical significance is particularly stark when juxtaposed with the history of the United States.
Iran possesses abundant natural resources, particularly oil and natural gas, which significantly contribute to its economy and global energy markets. It's also a significant producer of various minerals and agricultural products. Also, it does not recognize Israel.
Libya . Libya's natural resources are dominated by petroleum, including crude oil and natural gas, which are the country's primary economic assets. Other significant resources include gypsum, iron ore, and salt, along with various industrial minerals like lime, cement, and sulfur. Also, America played a key role in destabilizing it.
Somalia In May 2025, reports emerged that Turkey had discovered significant oil reserves in Somalia, potentially containing up to 20 billion barrels of crude oil. This discovery, part of an ongoing exploration exercise, has been met with both excitement and concern, with some raising questions about the fairness of the profit-sharing agreement between Turkey and Somalia. Also, ilhan omar has been a thorn for both the democrat and republican administrations.
Sudan possesses a variety of natural resources, including oil, gold, copper, iron ore, and natural gas. It also has vast arable land and water resources, particularly the Nile River and its tributaries. Also, the ICJ threw out Sudan genocide case against America's friend the UAE.
Yemen possesses a wide array of natural resources, including oil, natural gas, various minerals, and rich fisheries. Fossil fuels, particularly oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG), are significant and contribute to a large portion of the country's economy. The country also has abundant mineral reserves, including zinc, silver, nickel, copper, and gold. Renewable energy potential and diverse habitats, including coastal mangroves and montane regions, are also present. Also, the ship blocked of Israel.
Better for them to stay home because they could end up in jail for weeks and months for no reason.
