Have you ever been attacked anywhere? I have been attacked 5 times in Japan where I live in Tokyo, 4 times on trains.
Poland is the only place that is safe as of now!
Hooray, the 1 month of sameness finally ends!!! 🤗🤗🤗
hey Gabriel , I have been watching your videos for 6 years almost! and I love the content and because we are almost the same age I feel always the urge to watch all your videos and to support you, I wanted to give you a golden advise , have you watched the movie The God Father part 1 ? part of that movie was filmed in Savoca near Catania , there is a bar called Vitelli if you visit it you will see the same place where the scene of Michael Corleone proposed for the daughter of the bar owner , it is really worth it and if you like the idea please visit it and please keep the credit , I wish you all the best , keep on travelling my friend
I visited Catania in late November 2024 and enjoyed it before heading to Palermo and Cefalu. Seeing Mount Etna was cool – but it just erupted on June 4, so I'm surprised there wasn't much ash or reaction from the tourists or locals. Glad you made it. Catania is nice – but I prefer Palermo.
What's up with all the Graffiti? Why so much?
The best Roman mosaic floors I have ever seen are at the Villa Romani del Casali, about 3 hours drive to SW of Catania. The famous girls in bikinis mosaic is there. A forty foot long mosaic showing Romans loading African animals on boat to be sent to Rome is spectacular as well. Greek temples Of Agrigento are better than those in Greece& Turkey!
will be flying into italy on October 22nd! near Verona, in the Veneto region. first time going to italy and will be only my sixth country in Europe visited, but gonna be blast! this video got me excited! safe travels and have fun Gabe
What ru smoking Jimmie?
Sicily is known for it’s puppet theaters in the larger cities
Italy is the land of arrogance and over priced crap. pfft. 100 places better than Italy
Bravo, Gabriel!! By the way, I bought my very first sandals in 70 years, today!! LOL!!
Yay, Italy! Amazing that there's ancient ruins right in the middle of (and underneath) the city! So much history right there in front of you.
I'm so excited to see more of Sicily!
looks like you came out of the USA to make a circle of the planet ….i liked watching you Gabriel, good luck
Nice to see you in Sicily. This is bringing back memories. I've been to Catania, Syracuse, and Taormina many times. My wife's niece just got married in Taormina at the church in town at the top. Many people have their weddings there. The view across the chuch in the plaza is picturesque. You must go to Erice as well as Agrigento. Agrigento has ancient greek ruins. Worth the visit. My late wife(47), who recently passed away in October from breast cancer, is from Augusta. She has a sister thats lives there. I've hiked up Mt Etna a few times. Take the gondola up to the top of Etna, and then you can go higher by 4×4.
One year, when we flew into Catania, we were lucky because Mt Etna was erupting, and there was lots of ash in the air, and they closed the airport after we landed. I had volcanic ash all over my rental car and windshield. There was ash all over the streets.
My sister in law still has a farm with olive trees, orange, and lemon trees, etc. She also has an apartment in Augusta. Go for a hike in Cavagrande del Cassibile. It's a canyon you can hike down, and there are swimming holes. I was there about 2 years ago, and the trail was "officially" closed due to damaged trail but we went anyway. It's a pretty good challenge going down and then back up!
Safe travels. I miss Sicily. 😢
Syracusa is where Archimedes lived. The huge theater & Amphitheater are on mainland, but the island Ortygia is equally impressive. Cathedral has Greek columns embedded in its walls!
Looking up pictures of Taormina, that looks amazing.
Is there an active volcano in Sicily?
Going to Sicily including Catania in September – can't wait! Thanks Gabriel 👍
The black basalt elephant statue you walked past in Piaza del Duomo has a duplicate in downtown Sausalito CA.
go back to Greece!
It's so beautiful
Great video ! very interesting to see the Roman ruins amongst the modern Italian city 🙏
italien beautiful sights 👍
How are you not afraid of snakes? Walking around with sandals in nature in hot and dry countries can be dangerous.
If you are going off the road you should at least wear socks or high shoes
Hi Gabriel, Italy is a food lover's delight. Italian rainbow cookies, Italian sandwich cookies, or biscotti, so many different varieties. This is commonly seen in bakeries and bread, you can't go wrong. What about gelato? Prosciutto, thinly cut pieces of ham, it's just beautiful.
Agrigento is a city in southern Sicily, Italy, capital of the Province of Agrigento. The city is known for its historic center, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is the valley of ancient temples, it is worth visiting if you haven't been to the past.
I'm very happy that Gabe Traveler has finally left Greece. Italy is much more interesting. 🇮🇹🇹🇷
Hey mate guy from the abandoned ship it the peloponnese here, we also did sicily just before greece i really recommend you check the Aeolian Islands above sicily out , you catch a ferry there from Milazzo.. Lipari is the best island for a home base to further explore Vulcano, Salina and Stromboli, we had an amazing time there! enjoy
