It’s a “Thor” reunion.
Sir Anthony Hopkins’ upcoming memoir, “We Did Ok, Kid,” will be narrated by Hopkins’ friend and Marvel director Kenneth Branagh, bringing together two acting titans.
Branagh will be tasked with bringing Hopkins’ story to life, as the Oscar-winning acting legend reflects on his illustrious film and theater career, difficult childhood, and path to sobriety. Listeners will also hear from Hopkins directly, as he reads over a dozen of his favorite poems in his instantly recongnizable Welsh cadence.
“Writing this book has been a wonderful and fulfilling journey, and reliving so many turning points of my life and career has been emotional,” Hopkins said in a statement. “I am thrilled that listeners will also be able to experience this as an audiobook, and I am deeply grateful that my dear friend Kenneth Branagh has offered to narrate the audio, while listeners will also hear me recite some of my favorite poems that appear at the end of the text. Many thanks, Ken, I am honored.”

Hopkins has won two Academy Awards for “The Silence of the Lambs” and “The Father,” and he has also starred in such notable films as “Howard’s End,” “The Remains of the Day,” “Amistad,” “The Elephant Man,” “A Bridge Too Far,” “Magic,” and “The Two Popes.” On stage, he appeared in everything from “Antony and Cleopatra” to “M. Butterfly” and “Equus.” His TV roles include “Westworld,” as well as “The Lindbergh Kidnapping Case” and “The Bunker,” for which he won Emmys.
