Author Video Description
Klaus asks you to reflect on your everyday use of language – are you getting the point across in the way you intend? I’m the kind of person who gets way too excited about solving puzzles, whether it’s a messy process at work or figuring out why my coffee machine has decided to go on strike. I like getting to know people, and turning a problem into an opportunity. I think a good laugh can solve almost as much as a good plan – and best of all, you get both! I’m curious by nature, I’m resilient by practice, and I’m always a little restless if there’s nothing to improve.
We like to think of ourselves as rational and logical, carefully considering all the pros and cons before making a decision. But here’s the thing: most of the time, your subconscious has already decided to go for it.
In this talk, I’ll take you on a fast, funny ride through the sneaky world of your inner autopilot, the part of your brain that decides in a heartbeat whether you trust someone, like a brand, or think pineapple belongs on pizza. Sometimes it’s your best friend, sometimes it’s your worst enemy, but it’s always in charge. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
