Drake Teases a Remix of Ella Langley’s ‘Choosin’ Texas’ During DJ Set

Drake is proving to be the ultimate Ella Fella. The OVO boss previewed a remix to Ella Langley’s “Choosin Texas” anthem during a DJ set in Toronto on Sunday (Aug. 30).

Drizzy has seemingly been circling for an entry point into country music. The snippet finds Drake slowing the tempo with more of his signature moody, underwater R&B singing: “It doesn’t take a crystal ball to see,” then flipping Langley’s “cowboy” to “cowgirl” on the earworm of a chorus.

It’s unclear whether an official remix is coming or Drake is just testing the waters creatively. Billboard has reached out to reps for Drake and Ella Langley.

Earlier in August, the 6 God crowned Langley with having the “Goated pen” and pulled up to her show in North Little Rock, Arkansas, days later. Footage showed Drizzy having a blast while singing his heart out to Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” from a luxury box alongside one of the singer’s tour openers, ERNEST.

A photo of Drake and Langley backstage also emerged. Langley has proved to be a fan of Drizzy’s as well, as she posted a TikTok video lip-syncing to Drake and Lil Wayne’s Take Care collab “HYFR.”

In May, Drake experimented with elements of country while singing over an acoustic guitar on HABIBTI‘s “Rusty Intro.”

Teaming up with Drake wouldn’t be Langley’s first time working with a rapper, since the Alabama native joined forces with BigXthaPlug for “Hell at Night” in 2025, which peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The 27-year-old has another top 40 hit on the Hot 100, as Langley’s “Jaded” collaboration with Koe Wetzel sits at No. 22 on the chart. The breakout country star resumes her Dandelion Tour in New Jersey on Sept. 10.

As for Drake, he appeared to turn the page from ICEMAN and seemingly teased a project in the works titled Fear of Missing Out.
