As the cinematic landscape of 2026 ushers in a plethora of intriguing narratives, one film stands out with its pulse-pounding premise: Above The Below. This sci-fi thriller stars the charismatic Idris Elba and the rising talent Hero Fiennes Tiffin, promising an exhilarating blend of action, suspense, and emotional gravity.
The trailer sets the stage for a harrowing journey into the unknown. When three astronauts encounter a catastrophic malfunction during their space mission, they plummet into the ocean’s crushing depths, becoming trapped in an underwater abyss with dwindling oxygen. As time slips away like grains of sand, the trio faces an agonizing dilemma: who will risk it all to ascend to the surface, and who might be left to succumb to the inexorable pull of the ocean’s depths?
Above The Below examines not only the physical challenges of survival but also the psychological toll of high-stakes decision-making, exploring the nature of sacrifice and the bonds that hold people together in desperate times. With the ocean as their claustrophobic prison and each moment bringing them closer to the brink of despair, the film promises to deliver heart-stopping tension that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats.
As we look forward to its release, this thrilling narrative set against a backdrop of space exploration and oceanic mystery positions itself as a must-watch for fans of the genre. Keep an eye on this promising title, as it prepares to dive deep into the realms of human resilience.

IDK… two hours of swimming around? Think of the one segment from The Abyss when they had to swim from one station to the other… excellent, exciting… but not a whole movie. Maybe there is more to this, but I would think, then, they would have had some other non-swimming around in the water scenes.
Elba is easily one of the over-rated actors around now.
Elba is the acting equivalent of 24kt gold.
Subnautica: Part 1?
I'm going to call it now.
It's set on Earth, in the WAY distant past.
The ship design is quite similar to the actual UFO we've seen pics of at the bottom of the sea.
Looks boring.
I feel like an astronaut in the ocean
If I were Idris Elba, pretty damn hard. But I’m me, so I’m baling out pretty quick. Movie stars really wanna get home.
I find myself gasping for air just watching this trailer.

Subnautica. The Movie.
Not especially hard. Life hasn't been all it was cracked up to be.
I miss trailers like this where they show how interesting the movie is without ruining the story by showing too much
Looks like subnatica
Anybody remember 'Above The Rim' decades ago….🤣🤣
Is this the pg-13 version of iron lung?
It's about time they did a Waterworld sequel…
Cool. A movie about the shipwreck Cooper's team encountered on Miller's planet in Interstellar.
Don't care how good a movie looks, I just don't like Elba, he isn't a convincing actor.
That trailer showed nothing and I love it. Have to see the movie now.
Barotrauma the movie

No story was harmed in the making of this commercial.
Interstellar meets Event Horizon meets DJ Dris in Ibiza tripping balls

This looks like it's going to be good. I like Idris Elba, looking forward to it.
White people speaking ghetto makes me just as uncomfortable as black people speaking in a British accent… it's just wrong.
