In a night of devastating attacks, the Israeli military has intensified its strikes across Gaza, resulting in a tragic loss of life. The Shati refugee camp in northern Gaza bore the brunt of the violence, with at least 13 Palestinians killed in airstrikes targeting residential buildings and an evacuation center. Among the victims were children and women, including the sister of Hamas’s political bureau chief, Ismail Haniyeh.
The violence has also spread to other areas in Gaza. In the Maghazi refugee camp in central Gaza, Israeli forces have bombarded the area, leading to the deaths of at least five Palestinians. Disturbing images and videos have emerged, showing children being rescued from beneath the rubble of destroyed buildings and rushed to Al-Aqsa Hospital for treatment.
Further south in Khan Younis, at least 10 Palestinians have been killed in separate attacks on the area. The Israeli military’s escalation of violence has sparked outrage and condemnation from around the world, with many calling for an immediate halt to the bloodshed.
As the situation continues to deteriorate, Al Jazeera’s correspondent Tareq Abu Azzoum joins us live from Deir el-Balah to provide updates on the latest developments. The people of Gaza are facing a humanitarian crisis as they endure relentless bombardment and loss of life. The international community must act swiftly to put an end to the violence and bring about a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
