Bangladesh’s new caretaker leader, Muhammad Yunus, has returned to Dhaka after receiving medical treatment in France, and he has a lot to say about the recent political upheaval in the country. In a recent video, Yunus praised the students who played a key role in overthrowing the authoritarian government, calling them the saviors of Bangladesh and likening their actions to a second independence for the nation.
Yunus, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, emphasized the importance of protecting this newfound freedom, noting that it was crucial for the future of Bangladesh. His words come as he prepares to be sworn in along with his cabinet in the coming hours, marking a significant shift in leadership for the country.
In the video, student activist Prapti Taposhi and journalist Mainul Islam Khan provide their insights on the recent developments in Bangladesh. Taposhi offers a perspective on the role of the youth in bringing about change, while Khan provides analysis on the implications of Yunus’ return and the challenges that lie ahead for the new leadership.
The return of Muhammad Yunus and the events leading up to it mark a significant moment in Bangladesh’s history, with the promise of a new era of democracy and freedom on the horizon. The video sheds light on the perspectives of those who have been at the forefront of this movement, highlighting the importance of protecting and nurturing these hard-won gains.

Thank you for being with us .
Let's remember this powerful statement: Our pride, D. Muhammad Yunus. DW, thank you for standing with us!
Dr❤❤
We are lucky that we got person like high literature and motivation of world class of our country history.
Students will replace experienced politicians and run the country, replace experienced law enforcement officials and protect the citizens and minorities. What a joke 🤣🤣
He (Yunus) is greed of power,. He should surrender his nobel peace Prize
Common people are so involved in politics that they are still unable to come out of the dark world of politics. In my opinion, all the students and working people should not get involved in politics, do not act violently on each other, please build this country as a golden Bangladesh with love and compassion. According to me, politics should be a subject for those who want to do politics. No political party should form uneducated hooligans to show their power. And common people should not involve in politics and fight between them. 🙏🏻 hope Bangladesh will get its pride back 🤲🏻🤲🏻🤲🏻❤️🇧🇩
Great moments for Bangladesh
He is not a rival of Hasina. Hasina saw him as a potential threat. Not the same thing.
DW has done lot for us. Thank you!!
Why couldn’t DW news find someone who speak better English
Mohammad Yunus ❤
The three major political parties in Bangladesh are the BNP, Awami League, and Jatiya Party. If these parties are allowed to govern the country, Bangladesh will never prosper, as their MPs are riddled with corruption and do not represent the interests of the hardworking populace.
Stop killing for human please try to bring peace and happiness in your country.
I will vote for 1 candidate in 4 votes. This mindset needs to change.
Example:- 4 candidates participating in voting 4 thieves or ineligible.
The result of the vote will go in favor of 1 candidate. Then the power went to thieves or incompetent hands.
We can think of something new, for a change.
Example 1:- If each ward of each union of Bangladesh chooses who will be their ward member,
Who will be their union chairman,
Who will be MP, who will be their minister.
We know that in every ward, union, there are many good people, they don't want power, they think these problems.
If people force or persuade qualified people to vote as candidates, then there will be no corruption and development will be 100%.
Example 2:- Normally we have lakhs of people participating in a salaried government job exam.
Member, Chairman, MP, Minister they are also a salaried government job.
There is accountability in a normal job, there should be accountability here too.
But very few candidates participate in this job.
We should vote for more candidates.
Those who do politics are not just participating as candidates.
General public, employees, farmers should also participate.
The general public should be more aware, they should understand that their one vote is very valuable. Those who take the side of common people will get power.
(This is my personal opinion as a student and independent citizen)
Shedding of young students' blood in fighting the brutal Hasina rule should not be forgotten.
Best wishes to Mr Mohd Yunus. Hope he will lead Bangladesh in the right direction towards the path of democracy!
Indian media is reporting violence against minorities in Bangladesh. Can DW news run a story on this ?
❤🇧🇩❤️
Bangladesh will be sonar bangla …Bangladesh new chapter….no awami no bnp no jamat…new political party of students will lead Bangladesh to glory……Bangladesh will be NO 1
This fellow says 2nd independence to become Father of the Nation 2?
A good lesson for Indian government and politicians.
They never dealt with Bangladesh or Bangladeshi, they dealt with Awamileage. They backed Awamileage unethical and illegal way.
We took the revenge of fifty years. Along with that, we also gave lesson for thousand years.
Don't try to play with Bangladesh.
By the way, thanks to Indian students and public who stood with us.
Hendu genocide in Bangladesh 🇧🇩 we Indians and hindu never forget
Nobody in DW will be spared for the hindu genocide in Bangladesh.
Sister i know you are saying everything neutraly but army can't be in everywhere, because we don't have enough army troops as like Police.
Thanka DW.
We are grateful that DW broadcast real news about students movement.
Hope other country people will know about the trut of "ayna ghor" 😭what did hasina used to do with people,,the secret cell were people have been traped for over 10/11 years
Yunus if really good, he not say this words, never say stop attacks other religion, become Afghanistan soon,
All business gone, the money go down, they digging their own grave so deep.
❤❤❤
what they saved is his ascend to power… one thing to be a microfinancer.. quite another to become a ruler…the latter remain to be proven. one thing for sure.. denouncing your nation's founding father is a mark of a failed state. I mean mao tzedong and stalin massacred millions of their own. nobody in china or russia denounced them.
NO BNP, JatiyaParty, JamaatShibir etc! We don't need any parties/leagues influencing schools, colleges, universities. Let's focus on building a free country, not one controlled by political agendas
The "uh" is used much by minul islam the 😂
Shame on them! As per them, they will run the country. But they can't even protect the religious minorities( especially Hindus), who had nothing to do with the protest. They are also acknowledging it! We Indians are deeply concerned about the matter.
As per news many illegal Bangladeshi immigrants were trying to encroach In India today.
American puppet 😂
Until November 2024
We have to save our Pakistan and get long awaiting second independence too, May the Merciful perform a miracle for us, congratulations Bangladesh
Love from India for a better future, but at the same time, feeling ashamed as Indian politics is getting involved in foreign affairs and spreading misinformation through Indian media.
Ok
