A global longevity movement – Eternal life with biohacking? | DW Documentary
A global longevity movement promises to decelerate the ageing process. Or even avoid it, altogether. But just how realistic are the claims of biohacking and self-optimization? And who can afford it anyway?
YouTuber Anastasia wants to stay young forever, and a researcher in the USA promises that people can live up to 500 years. Bryan Johnson is following the radical ‘Don’t Die’ program to become immortal. The tech billionaire lives by strict rules, eats the same thing every day and avoids all forms of risk. At his home in Los Angeles, the most famous follower of the longevity scene shows how he wants to overcome death. But is this plan at all realistic?

Could you possibly have employed worse, more fake-sounding voice actors?
{:o:O:}
Am just grateful that I am healthy today and that I have all that life could give me ( great wife and kid and a decent saving) should death come trrow, I will have no regrets. This life is all but a transit and I don't want to be stuck here forever 😃 ! 🎉💐
Most people focus on the lifespan aspect of this subject. Much more important is the increase in our health span. I practice some of these methods described in the video not to add years to my life but to add life to my final years.
😮💨Most people who are commenting negative things about this documentary don't even have the attention span to watch it. Their brains are fried from screen addiction and fructose corn syrup diet does the rest. 🤣
Now a day's so many people are facing depression and anxiety why not you try to make one motivational episode about meditation , that can help young people from come out from anxiety and depression 🤝
Who wants to live a thousand years.. even past 100 years?? 🫣
Fear of death is the brother of death.
this is ALL just ATTENTION SEEKING from a guy no one cares about….
The Americans shown here are your typical wealthy Americans surrounded by excess- self absorbed, driven to sell you something or the other, and they always have an excuse for why the relevant disparities between haves and have-nots don’t matter to them in particular. Notice even that the way they make eye contact is so different from how the Germans in this film do. It’s pretty aggressive.
The way money drives America and so many Americans disgusts me (I say this as an American).
If you want eternal life – make kids and spend time with them … with time will inherit from you your way of thinking and the way you see the world + they will inherit your genes…
This is the only proven way to live forever – through your descendants😊
If you want to increase the succes of the above method try to live a healthy life and promote that to your children and grandchildren as best as you can😊
when you gotta go you gotta go, this quest of futility could've been spend elsewhere, like i don't now, enjoying a regular life?
No one will leave forever.
Just a madness never gonna happen.
The key to longevity is good heart and peace of mind with healthy food.., fix your thoughts, actions, according Buddha teaching.
I want to live a couple of thousand years.
Eternal life sounds boring
Die is inevitable. We only can stretching our lifespan, that's it. But why peps want to be live forever in this chaotic world?
What? None of us make it out alive.
He’s not chasing immortality, I think he is chasing fame and is completely delusional. Personally, I believe he has a Messiah complex, as he was raised Mormon, and believes he can save humanity. This, coupled with him potentially cosplaying as an AI/Elon Musk hybrid, probably won’t end well for him. He will die, just like every last one of us. This is unavoidable. I do like the guy though, he is unique and he has achieved a lot to be fair to him.
Already seen this on netflix. is it the same documentary?
Immortality is a Disease/Curse. We should find a way to slow aging to extend Human Life, but not to prevent death.
I think the lady forgot she once was a child and grew up the level where she is right now. It's so patheticto see how some of us has lost the sense of human life.
The sad thing is his every second of life is consumed by exercise, pills, red light therapy and so on. That’s no way to live. Watching him is just exhausting not interesting.
Well, who knew? Just quit my job to reduce stress! 🙄Anastasia looks great, but a lighter hand with the makeup would be an improvement imo. Even for teenagers, excessive makeup is aging (that's why they do it). *edit: misspelled her name. Uh-oh, need moar supplementz!
Did not ALL of us up to Noah I believe live a thousand years. The TROUBLE is about 999 years of those we were not so GOOD, or loving or inclusive. I agree with God about 120 but really what the healthy active years are would be the limit
How funny it is playing God then baaamm ☠ out of the blue you die just because it's your time 😅
lol, only eternal life with Christ. Keep on trying. lol.
No ASI no immortality
hey I saw that professor in Hogwarts history books
i think it should have been emphasized more that a lot of this is simple fraudery
That man dyes his hair and, unfortunately for him, he looks exactly as old as he his only a bit sicker than average.
26:38 47?? he looks like a healty 60yo
The convencional medicine is completely letting us down. It not only never helped me, but in fact it made symptoms worse. Now in Berlin, 47 years old in perimenopause I still don't get any treatment I have the right to have. Krankenkasse refuses the blood work I need like hormones and thyroid. Thank God we can research and find help on the internet to navigate menopause alone with the help of supplements, and it 100% helps! While the corrupted medical system is only interested in our money, the sicker we are the better for big pharma
Brian Johnson is a scammer
IF you do, you DIE.
IF you don't, you DIE.
The end result is the same.
The only difference is quality, you could get mowed by a bus tomorrow and all that longevity would be in vein.
Live your life.
You can see a person age by looking at hes her eyes. No matter how clear and young looking your skin and mo matter you don't have wrinkles. Eyes is enough to know a person Age
Doesn't matters if they live 50 or 200, they Will never want to die anyway. Those who live the present, practice gratitude and accept their mortality are probably the happiest amoung us.
For humans, there is one aspect that was not covered in this documentary, the mind. Physical longevity without taking care of mental health is meaningless. Human willpower and curiosity, and the sense of a goal in life that goes beyond the selfish 'I want to live forever' are more powerful than any physical health regimen. Of course, we need to take care of our physical health but only as part of a holistic approach.
Hopefully, before the centuries end, we will achieve indefinite life extension
Immortality is the gift God has given humanity in Jesus. His goal has always been to make man like him. There is a man in the Godhead who is immortal. Just believe in Him.
What happens if a car hits him ?
Just wait few more years quantum and AI will provide long life , he is wasting his body and money and time
Seeing her fridge wide open for so long took a few years off my life
…we have to start somewhere…help the 44 million people in the USA who are food insecure …how superficial certainly not adding value to humanity
Just like most things, u have to be Wealthy or Rich for this SMH
None of these people actually look younger than their age, but maybe they live longer anyway.
