A Woman of Distinction (1950) – A Charming Screwball Comedy
“A Woman of Distinction,” directed by Charles Vidor, is a delightful romantic comedy that effortlessly melds wit with social commentary. Starring the ever-fabulous Rosalind Russell as the prim and proper college dean, and Ray Milland as the globe-trotting professor, the film offers a whimsical critique of gender roles within the framework of a charming love story.

How wonderful to watch a movie with no swear words violence and sex scenes
Excellent Movie 😂😅❤
I am not trying to be condescending. I felt there was quite a bit of overacting. The elitist theme was weak. Rosalind Russell is way too dynamic for this movie and Ray Milland was magnificently boring. Also, not funny.
Gracias
La tienen en Español.😊
Thank you very much for movie!❤❤❤❤
Good comedy-I loved 🥰 Rosalind Russell and ray Milland-with a cameo by Lucille ball ! 😂😂😂❤❤
What a gem!! Fab film and V funny, loved it ♥
This movie is absolutely hilarious! I had no idea Rosalind Russell could do physical comedy! 🤣🤣
Definitely a Seriously FUN, lighthearted comedic romance "probe"….. so very well scripted….. from A-to-Z!!!!
Ray Milland's classic wry wit was the perfect casting contrast to the forever charming, brassy sophistication of the equally One Of A Kind, radiantly lovely Rosalind Russell. 🥰 The multiple cameos of Janis Carter were also a welcomed treat!!! 😋
Russell’s career Magnum Opus was the smash hit “Auntie Mame” in 1958. A wonderful follow-up read is her autobiography, “Life Is a Banquet”, where she noted that “By 1951 I had grown weary of playing the eternal, successful career woman in films.
I had played that role 23 times”…. 🧐👍
Great comedy. I love Rosalind Russell.
❤❤❤
Why did you use a thumbnail of Lucille Ball?
Good grief…"You need a child of your own, not an adopted child" how hurtful for an adopted child. 😕
Great movie – watched it a few times – each time its so enjoyable. ❤ 1:17
I love Rosalind Russell ❤😊
My impression of Rosalind Russell from every appearance I've found and viewed is this: Her role/character in this movie doesn't stray far from the real Rosalind Russell – a mind crafted for conquering the world. Of courwe, Rosalind Russell was most definitely NOT cold and aloof – she possessed the Gemini Woman's devilish, masculine, sprightly sense of humor and the easy-breezy roadster personality.
As for Ray Milland, I ponder him working with Peter Falk in 'Columbo' and occasionally thinking back to that moment when he exited a plane with Lucille Ball.
