Apple Glasses Could Have Something Meta is Missing | One More Thing
In the latest episode of “One More Thing,” host Bridget Kerry dives into the competitive landscape of smart glasses, contrasting Meta’s new Ray-Ban display glasses with the anticipated Apple offering. With Meta’s glasses struggling for popularity and availability despite an $800 price tag, the buzz around Apple’s potential capabilities in this space grows louder. Kerry interviews CNET editor Scott Stein, who shares insights from his decade-long exploration of wearables. The duo discusses the unique advantages Apple could leverage, from integrating AirPods and Apple Watches to enhancing user experience through improved design and affordability.
As wearable tech evolves, questions arise: How will Apple differentiate its product to feel more “normal” compared to current options? While Meta’s initiatives focus on connectivity, Apple’s comprehensive ecosystem could offer seamless interactions, addressing one of the key hurdles in AR technology. They also touch on the ethical implications of wearing such devices in public, remarking on the change in societal attitudes since the days of Google Glass.
Tune in to explore how Apple might redefine the smart glasses experience and whether this technology will become an essential part of our lives. Join the conversation and share your thoughts on the future of smart eyewear!

Why are you trying to steal Meta's thunder about an imaginary non-existent product from Apple?
No Thanks. At least with Google Glass you knew what the deal was… Besides, what does an electrogmagnetic field that close to your brain do to the brain? Maybe nothing, but…maybe not.
Copy cat! 😠🤬
Samsung needs to release Galaxy Glasses right now. They can offer an ecosystem and better OS and AI than Meta and Apple. Meta has set the bar all others must get over. Samsung can do it, and they should do it at least a year before Apple.
I love my Vision Pros!!
Apple have to fix their AI in order to be in the competition
From now, when it comes to a new product category, I will only get it when Apple rolls out their version. I've tried the Google Glass, two VR sets, and two foldable phones. None of was quite there to be called revolutionary, or even evolutionary. For all of them, the problem is that the total is much less than the sum of the parts.
I’m excited for Apple Glasses because:
1) Driving directions. It’s not safe for me to be looking back and forth from the road to my phone.
2) Replacing my computer monitors. Even if this is an eventual feature, that would help me decide if they’re worth their price. I could just ask if they’re more or less expensive than a monitor
Neat tech! THIS I would do before I would attach a brick to my head (Vision Pro). These would be far less obtrusive and I feel that Apple would just do the ecosystem and hardware integration MUCH better than Meta ever could.
0:18 "Tech companies are pushing us toward their vision of a new world." What's interesting is only vendors want artificial intelligence, and none of the customers.
Gee, I wonder how this is going to work out (not really).
Fake they saying that apple makes athe glasses for 10 years and I never seen any proof
MARK ZUCKERBERG SHOULD MAKE MORE DEVICES.😊
I wonder whether you could have it be like Geordie la forges visor in star trek and see more of the visual spectrum
I have wanted some smart glasses
It will be interesting to see how Apple integrates smart glasses in their ecosystem but I think a key function would be the understanding of the real world in front of the viewer. This opens up all kinds of opportunities that go beyond what the phone already does: in context tourist info, shopping info, route guidance, objects identification (fruits, birds, cars, shoes etc), person identification (with formal permission) etc, all kinds of infos that could be channeled into existing Apple apps like Contacts, Journal, Notes, Calendar, Photos etc. I think Google has an edge on understanding the real world with an existing app for phones…
