Four British tourists are among seven people feared to be missing at sea after a luxury yacht capsized in a tornado off the coast of Sicily. The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, when the 56m British-flagged yacht, the Bayesian, sank to the sea bed 50m down and half a mile off the coast near Palermo.
Rescuers managed to save fifteen passengers from the yacht, as helicopters searched the rough seas for those still missing. Rescue divers who reached the sunken vessel reported being able to see bodies through portholes, according to Italian media sources and civil protection officials.
