Calgary officials have announced that the process of restoring water services is in its final stages after a water feeder main in Bowness broke on June 5. Mayor Jyoti Gondek shared that Alberta Health Services has completed testing the water quality in the pipes and has given approval for the city to move forward with the stabilization phase. This phase is described as the most risky step in the process, as turning valves and pumps back on could potentially strain the system. Gondek emphasized the importance of proceeding cautiously to prevent any issues and urged residents to continue conserving water during this crucial stage.
