Riding Through History: A Journey to Bamyan’s Lost Buddhas
In this gripping episode of “Taliban in Afghanistan: Catch Me Filming Them”, we embark on an extraordinary journey to Bamyan, a site once celebrated for its monumental Buddha statues, which stood as a testament to Afghanistan’s rich pre-Islamic heritage. Standing over 1,500 years old, these colossal figures were tragically destroyed by the Taliban in 2001, marking a profound loss for both art and history.
Join me as I navigate the rugged terrain of Afghanistan on my motorcycle, capturing not just the breathtaking landscapes but also the resilient spirit of its people. As I ride towards Bamyan, the echoes of the past converge with the realities of today, reminding us of the stories that linger in this ancient land.
This episode offers a unique lens into Afghanistan’s complex history, revealing the contrasts between its cultural legacy and the challenges it faces. Through my camera’s eye, witness the stunning beauty that remains and the determination to preserve its narrative amidst adversity. Experience the journey, feel the pulse of Bamyan, and reflect on the poignant tales etched into its mountains.
As we delve deeper, we’ll explore not only the remnants of a lost civilization but also the contemporary landscapes shaped by ongoing strife. Tune in for an unforgettable ride that intertwines history, adventure, and a glimpse into the heart of Afghanistan.

Bravery doesn't belongs to gender, Rather it belongs to the heart of human beings.
No less than 1 trillion check-points 😳
Très beau comme voyage. Très respectueuse ta façon de voyager. De fois juste je pense que les géologues sont les explorateurs des extractivistes minières. Une matière si belle et si proche de la destrucción aussi. Merci quand même pour le partage de ce voyage
GREAT VIDEO 📹
Can't believe the goat herder got through the check point before you did 😂

Are you planning to ride across all the Central Asian countries? I have also planned to do so but it may only be done next year.
Fantastic video! Afghanistan is really nice and you are brave to face all the difficulties that you meet during your travel. Thank you Noraly for another beautiful video. Take care
I love your video, you are brave!
Afghanistan inspite of so many wars for decades looks much cleaner than India

Yo that city is hectic af! Lol!
I would never go to this Country even if you pay me one Million. And in the same time no one of them I want to see in Europe. Even not as tourists
The way everyone watches her gives me goosebumps, both authorities and locals…Scary….
De plus en plus belle ….. 😉
Noraly, you're very skilled at human interactions with strangers. There very few people that can do what you are doing, and you do it with grace. You take great risks to capture your travels. I fear for you getting hurt, not by people but by accident somehow. I doubt if the hospitals are safe and sanitary, so the best of luck to you. You're a treasure to the world.
As a buddhist I dont hate them…They got the karma for what they did already.
Checkpoints!
With the war just broken out between Pakistan and Afghanistan, are you in any danger? I know, many of us are concerned! Be safe!😮😮😮😮

This checkpoint might seem intense at first glance, but it’s actually a surprisingly chill moment. Even though the guards turned off one camera—believing the other was off too—they still went out of their way to help her. After requesting her Taliban-issued permit (with some assistance from inside car civilians, since they couldn’t speak English), they examined it closely. Once satisfied, they advised her to keep the permit on top of her stack of papers and show only that one at future checkpoints. That handsome guy even pitched in, tucking the unnecessary documents into her bag and placing the key permit right on top for easy access.
In the final scene, as she drove away, he called out in Farsi with a mix of sarcasm and excitement: “Look at her chadar (veil/hijab)!” I think they were smitten. 😊
I love❤
Noraly, please get out of Afghanistan and stay away from the southern border with Pakistan. Current news is the Taliban are trying to take Pakistan and convert it into part of their califate, and there are many battles all along the border. I will feel better for you outside of those areas. Please take good care and God bless and watch over you. Much love from East Tennessee USA
I WAS IN AFGHANISTAN, BUT NOT AS A TOURIST…NICE REPORTAGE..WISH YOU A SAFE TRIP🍀🌺🌺🌺
They said '' you care for the statues more then children starving in afganistan ." then they destroyed those statues .
Genghis was no fool. She would have betrayed him as well sooner or later.
