Kyoto is known for its traditional Japanese inns, or ryokans, and we recently had the opportunity to stay at what we believe is the most underrated one in the city. Tucked away in the mountains just outside of Kyoto, this ryokan provided us with an unforgettable and authentic Japanese experience.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a serene atmosphere. The private onsen, traditional kaiseki-style meals, and unique sleeping arrangements made our stay truly special. For first-timers looking to immerse themselves in Japanese culture, staying at a ryokan is a must, and this particular one exceeded all of our expectations.
