If you’re looking to impress your family and friends with a delicious and indulgent dessert, look no further than Duff Goldman’s Chocolate Babka recipe. This recipe, passed down from Duff’s great-grandmother, features layers of rich, buttery dough swirled with decadent chocolate filling.
To start, you’ll need to gather the following ingredients:
– 1 cup warm milk
– 1 package active dry yeast
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
– 2 large eggs
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
– 1/2 cup sugar
– 1/4 cup cocoa powder
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
In a mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and 1/2 cup of sugar. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until foamy. Add in the flour, eggs, salt, and softened butter, and mix until a dough forms. Let the dough rise for about an hour in a warm place.
While the dough is rising, prepare the chocolate filling by mixing together the chocolate chips, sugar, cocoa powder, and melted butter. Set aside.
After the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and roll it out into a large rectangle. Spread the chocolate filling over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Roll the dough up tightly into a log, then slice it in half lengthwise. Twist the two pieces together to form a braided loaf.
Place the babka in a greased loaf pan and let it rise for another 30 minutes. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 45-50 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
Once the babka is done baking, let it cool slightly before slicing and serving. This chocolate babka is perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert and is sure to become a family favorite. Enjoy!

Yummy Delicious
I'm definitely stealing the mini chips in the bakka. Everything is better with mini chips in them.
There’s chocolate, and there’s cinnamon.
Hi❤
I would like to make it but how much does a half pack of dried yeast weigh please.
This is a super woke cooking show, that' why I stopped watching.
