In an exhilarating update for electric vehicle enthusiasts and trucking professionals alike, Elon Musk has unveiled groundbreaking details about the highly anticipated 2026 Tesla Semi Gen 2. Just as the final 32 units of the first-generation Tesla Semis are being delivered to priority customers, the assembly team at Giga Nevada is gearing up for mass production of the next-gen model, set to launch in October with a staggering production capacity of 50,000 vehicles annually by 2026.
What should we expect from this new Semi? For starters, Musk has hinted at a price that aims to redefine consumer expectations in the trucking industry. Add to this the promise of 18 innovative upgrades, including an all-new battery system and a reimagined headlight design, and it’s clear that the Tesla Semi Gen 2 is not just an evolution; it’s a revolution in electric trucking.
While early adopters of the first-gen model have reported positive experiences, particularly in urban settings, challenges remain—such as performance in colder climates. However, with a fresh slate of over 1,000 engineers dedicated to this new model, the future looks bright.
This video dives deep into the intricacies of the Tesla Semi Gen 2, exploring the enhancements that make it a standout in the electric market. If it’s so efficient, why hasn’t every logistics company jumped on it?
The Megacharger network will be the real revolution if Tesla can pull it off.
Battery-powered freight just became a real business case. Wow.
Show us long-term reliability — not just controlled test drives.
Still no Hydrogen engines .
I want one.
Hope they fail and others replace them with electric trucks.
Hey Elon send me 1 I'll test it out for 5 years for free
Send me 1
No sleeper 500 miles will not cut it short run with any delay will cost a fortune in hotels
❤
Do not expect the new simi plant to do 50,000 trucks a year (190 per day) on the 1st day of production. In all endeavors you have to walk before you can run. Customers may have their truck in any color they wish, as long as it is white. Customers will have to paint or wrap their own trucks.
Before Tesla builds 190 trucks a day they need to SELL 190 trucks a day, if not, they are going to need a gigantic parking lot to park inventory waiting for customers. Nobody wants to buy a 2 year old vehicle, not unless they get a killer discount. A very stupid way to run a car co as Chrysler's bankruptcy showed us. Ford operates variable speed assembly lines-they build only the vehicles they have orders for.
!
Is it self driving
The fuel cost comparison ignores the fact that diesel fuel pays road taxes, but the electricity presumably does not. Do the trucks use the new aluminum based Tesla batteries?
Tesla needs to get Semi charging at truck stops like Loves or Piliot.
Tesla's Semi charges are going to be 8¢/kW at Tesla Chargers? I think not. The cost of charging a Tesla at a Tesla Auto Charger starts at about 28¢/kW. Charging is a cash cow for Tesla and Tesla will not give that up.
Is Tesla semi in Colorado Denver specifically
7:24 PepsiCo Denver megacharging👍
How cool is that it's amazing of what Mr Musk comes up..He's awesome And a genius
Tesla can sell electricity for whatever price they want. The goal is to get Semis into service. New trucks will be seen by more people if charging is available. Early Semis will sell. Get them into the hands of truckers. Aaand…..sold!
Huh? Why build trucks when there are insufficient chargers? The numbers should be complementary. Hit the ground RUNNING, not PARKING.
The Cybertruck was also once labelled a money making machine …
Boycot everything from the clown Elmo musk
It's amazing how you can make outrageous claims using AI to generate fake trucks, factories and employees.
Good, im tired of these sh!t bags truck drivers.
This company is located as neighbors, directly next to the new Tesla battery and semi gigafactories.
Not even Friday's crash was able to rock this stock, but it did create a great entry point. Love this 6-month chart. Would really appreciate it if you would please share your insight.
Big catalyst is coming up this coming week. The power is below our feet. This is a 24-hour power producer, without a storage battery needed. This technology is way more sustainable than nuclear which is what all the hyperscalers have been buying… The Smart ones are just catching on now. This is the global geothermal leader. Vertically integrated and continually poised for growth.
Ormat Technologies (NYSE: ORA) is scheduled to release its Q2 2025 earnings after the market close on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

You really save on electricity cost by putting in a 125KW natural gas generator. That would charge 5 semis at one time at less than 11 gallons an hr running, you would save a fortune running these trucks. Probably just the money you would save in DEF would pay to fuel the thing. Cutting out the power company is the trick and this would do it. You could run 12 semis on one generator (40k cost for generator, you could also ship the heat from the generator into warehouse in winter) if you were fueling in two shifts.
Good cartoon,
Maybe good project for EU,
but here in America we need trucks for owner operators. This is too expensive and too many problems like any electrical
Creature.
They, innovators, already screwed transportation business in America by DPF SYSTEM FOR DIESELS, instead to serving for 1.5 millions miles today's truck serving 0.3 millions miles.
I've seen a burning electrical car, but I don't want see how electrical truck looks on the fire!
Go to innovate something for the housewife business, the trucking business for man,
And man don't like sissy staff!
Plenty of skepticism in the comments, par for the course for Tesla! Whatever your concerns are Tesla has already thought of them and is addressing them in the background. Companies will have no choice, the economics is overwhelming, the tech is incredible, add FSD, game over for everyone else.
