It Happened! Elon Musk Leaks $0.06/Wh Semi-Solid-State Battery, 4 Mins Charging! China LFP Killer?
In an exciting development for the electric vehicle (EV) industry, Elon Musk has unveiled a groundbreaking semi-solid-state battery from 24M, boasting an unprecedented cost of just $0.06 per watt-hour and a lightning-fast 4-minute charging time. This revelation promises to reshape the landscape of battery technology and could potentially spell doom for China’s popular lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries.
Batteries have long been seen as the Achilles’ heel of electric vehicles, often hampered by high manufacturing costs and lengthy charging times. The semi-solid-state battery’s innovative design offers a simplified assembly process, reducing the number of components while enhancing safety and recyclability. With these advancements, 24M aims to disrupt the current battery market and make EVs more accessible to consumers.
The real challenge lies in proving these claims through rigorous testing. While the lab results are promising, real-world data on charge-discharge cycles and battery longevity are crucial for validation. If 24M can successfully navigate this critical phase, U.S. manufacturers might finally reduce their reliance on Asian suppliers, making affordable EVs a genuine possibility.
Could this innovation mark a turning point for American battery manufacturing? With the potential to outpace competitors like the BYD Seagull and XPeng G6 Long Range, the future of the U.S. EV market is looking more promising than ever. It’s nice to see Tesla addressing issues that so many EV owners face in cold climates. Here’s hoping this new battery tech works as advertised.
The idea of charging faster in freezing temperatures is a dream come true. I really hope this tech can become a reality soon!
How do solid-state batteries compare in cost and performance to current lithium-ion batteries for those who live in warmer climates?
Is there any concern that the solid-state battery might not work as effectively in extremely humid conditions?
I Thought China Already Has This 😮😂😅 They Try To Say Is Their Inventions 😮😅😂
I've been wanting a FSD. Then I found out the battery replacement after a few years was $10k+… and that's not reasonable. It's a throw-away at that point and it shouldn't be. I'll be following to find out how the battery comes along. Having the same charge time as refueling, or less, is a big plus as well.
👏👏👏👏❗🇺🇲👍😎
I wanted a Tesla. Then I found out Musk is a NAZI. FORGET IT FOREVER
Did Elon buy Harley Davidson

Does this mean the U.S. can finally compete with China on battery pricing and scale?
If it’s really $0.06/Wh, why haven’t more automakers jumped on it already?
I’m all for cheaper, safer batteries—especially if it makes EVs truly affordable.
4-minute charging sounds amazing, but I’ll believe it when I see it at a public charging station.
Semi-solid-state? Sounds like a smart middle ground while we wait for full solid-state to mature.
Finally! The U.S. making real moves to catch up in battery tech. 24M could be a dark horse.
How does this compare to Tesla’s 4680 batteries in terms of energy density and safety?
Hope Elon actually adopts this. Tesla needs a better alternative to the 4680 ramp headaches.
If this hits mass production, it’s game over for legacy battery tech. $60/kWh is insane.
I'm sick and tired of these promises, stop these stories and bring these batteries to market. Then you can tell these stories. Until then it's all make believe. Like the flying car, it's make believe and if it is so, it's unaffordable.
❤ wow! Very good news! Awesome work, Tesla and Elon! Congratulations 🍾🎈🎊🎉 ❤😊
Good job Elon , flying vehicles becoming a reality.
