Vietnam version of @herebebarr
I never heard of a fee to use an elevator. That’s probably the only place on earth that does that
wow Here Be Barr and Action Kid in another country!!!!
Dang Action Kid, you went to the apartments of The famous Cafe in Ho Chi Minh City!😍🤩😎 I bet you'll love it here in those Cafe apartments!🤭😏 Thanks for sharing that tour Action Kid!😌🤗🥹😇
Good morning AK 👋😁 it was a pleasure to meet jon Barr's brother alen and his wife and a great video my friend
Have a wonderful day!
Is paying the elevator charge that expensive? I probably would have gotten my steps in for the day 🙂 🦜
When did Jon's brother get there and how long will they be there?
For those wondering, thats Here Be Barr's twin brother. 😊
Wow that guy looks like just me! Where did you find him?
Man this place looks awesome! Thank you for showing it, AK! Love Vietnam!

That really held my interest!!
What a romantic set-up!!
Thanks AK!
☕️
What a unique place. Thanks for taking us along.
Nice video Actionkid. I did not know that Jon Barr has a brother. 😂😂So funny to find his brother in Ho Chi Minh City. It doesn’t matter how you find this guy, at least your viewer know that this guy is the twin brother of Mr Jon Barr not someone else.
Just curious, why does ActionKid no longer call it Saigon but instead HCMC?
Thanx Action Kid & M/M Barr for an interesting tour of Cafe’ Apts!
You guys did all the “legwork”, but I enjoyed the video while eating lunch at home…….
To appreciate this building and this video, you have to put yourselves in the Vietnam War mode, the bursting 60s, when the whole world turned their attentions to Vietnam, with international reporters flooded to Vietnam, the Tan Son Nhut (southern spelling not today's "Nhat") was the busiest airport in the world at that time with all the war transports. In the 90s these buildings looked old and need to demolish, but now over 50yrs architectures from the 60s like this becoming so rare.
In downtown Saigon you'll find 2 eras of old apartment buildings, the late French colonial 1940-50s they built quite a number of apartments roughly 4-6 storeys.
The American era followed between 60-70s, and American apartments buildings were usually taller than 5 storeys as they began to use elevators, the tallest was the Saigon Palace hotel on Nguyen Hue with 15 storeys. Most of these tall apartments were built for American soldiers, I;m sure this building was too. Imagined these tourists were American soldiers walked around the building in the 1960s. Tran Hung Dao street from Saigon to Cholon hosted a string of tall American era apartments one was reported as a haunted apartment.
These old apartments follow no guideline of halls, corridors, stairs and apartments, it feels like they can put anything at anywhere and turned the apartments in to mazes, more and more got demolished for safety reason, they become rare and rare. They have the power to transport you back in time, watching this I imagined and felt like I'm back to the 60s in Saigon. Thank you for showing, I wouldn't come here that's why I never knew what's hidden inside!
Ps: in Cho Lon there are many old apartments in the 60s, but the famous one is Hao Si Phuong from the French era, so many people come here to film residents have to put up the sign no camera, no visitor, but if you're curious you can walk in quietly, or come in the morning to try the Chinese noodles stall inside so you have purpose to walk around LOL
John's bro eh?
I love bread stuffed with red bean paste, Have eaten several times from The Phillipine Bread House on Newark Avenue in Jersey City. Definitely worth a visit. Glad you enjoyed it. Interesting building with all the cafes, apartments, and shops, And some nice views nearby of a modern building. Looks as if the rain stopped by the time you got back outside! Good timing!
OMG I love your channel.. I have been following you for years and your adventures are literally the BEST!! 😍 This one is hands down one of my FAVS! Adding this to my bucket list! aloha 🤙🏽💫💗
Seems like a lot of people speak English there.
Evan edinger was there. He explained the place pretty well. Unfortunately it’s an old building that really needs to come done but the Vietnamese government refuses.
Alert, alert! That hat is cultural appropriation! 🙂 Action Kid, you have not aged one bit over the years.
Imagine charging a fee to use an accessibility device.
I don't know what was more surreal, watching the whole video trying to get your brother and wife out of my mind's uncanny valley, or the guy that sort of staggered Frogger-style across the road, blithely uncaring for the oncoming moped traffic. You expect twins to be around, but not doing similar things viewed from 3rd person. Wow, I really tied my mind in a knot…lol…. what an April Fool's opportunity missed…
It's so trippy how John's brother not only looks and sounds like him but also has the same mannerisms, speech patterns etc.
Interesting video, for a second I thought De Barr divorced and had a new lady 😮 …my bad 😂
Wow . This was an amazing video. I enjoyed it very much . Thank you for making the sacrifice of the stairs so that we can see each floor . You are the man . 😁☺️😊
