Two fishermen are being hailed as heroes after rescuing a man who was clinging to his capsizing boat in the waters off the coast of Connecticut. Nick Whitbeck and Joe Tormay were out fishing for striped bass when they noticed a man in distress.
The man, who has not been identified, was struggling to stay afloat as his boat began to sink. Without hesitation, Whitbeck and Tormay maneuvered their own boat closer to the stranded man and pulled him to safety.
In a video captured by the fishermen, the man can be seen clinging to the side of his capsizing boat while waves crash against him. Whitbeck and Tormay quickly spring into action, throwing a rope to the man and helping him climb aboard their boat.
The rescued man, visibly shaken and grateful, is then seen sitting on the deck as Whitbeck and Tormay check on his well-being. The fishermen later brought the man back to shore where he was greeted by emergency responders.
This heartwarming rescue serves as a reminder of the bravery and selflessness displayed by individuals like Whitbeck and Tormay in times of crisis. Their quick thinking and willingness to help a stranger in need undoubtedly saved the man’s life, and their actions should be commended.
