Retired US Sheriff’s Deputy Goes Missing in Greece
A retired California sheriff’s deputy, Albert Calibet, has gone missing while on vacation in Greece. Last seen on the island of Amorgos during the country’s historic heatwave, Calibet went for a hike and has not been seen for eight days. Despite the extreme temperatures exceeding 100 degrees, little has been done to locate him, according to his girlfriend Debbie Leshane.
Calibet is one of six tourists who have either died or gone missing during the heatwave in Greece, adding to the concern for his safety. As a retired law enforcement officer, Calibet’s disappearance highlights the vulnerability that travelers can face while exploring foreign destinations, especially during extreme weather conditions.
The search for Calibet continues as his loved ones hope for his safe return. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance serve as a stark reminder of the importance of staying vigilant and prepared while traveling, even in popular tourist destinations.
