A fight for survival from the very start: Babies born far too soon. The long-term effects of premature births are often be underestimated.

Born three months prematurely and weighing just 800 grams, Amina’s start in life could hardly have been more dramatic. She is now in the intensive care unit of a German clinic. Her mother is with her as often as possible. Thanks to modern medicine, extremely premature babies like Amina have a chance of survival. But the long-term consequences are often underestimated.
