Ingredients:
- 4 lbs corned beef brisket
- 1 onion, quartered
- 6 cloves of garlic, smashed
- 4 cups beef broth
- 2 teaspoons black peppercorns
- 2 teaspoons mustard seeds
- 4 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (for a little heat)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Brisket: Rinse the corned beef under cold water to remove excess salt. Pat it dry with paper towels.
- Flavor Infusion: In a large pot, combine beef broth, onion, garlic, black peppercorns, mustard seeds, bay leaves, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a simmer.
- Cook: Add the corned beef to the pot, ensuring itâs submerged. Cover and simmer on low heat for about 3-4 hours, or until the meat is tender.
- Slice & Serve: Once cooked, remove the brisket, let it rest for a few minutes, then slice it against the grain. Serve on hearty bread with a dollop of mustard or piled high with classic sides, like coleslaw or pickles.

Itâs where Jason Newstead was offered the Metallica Job
SF is a great city…. dont let the politics fool you.
Hey Guy just wanted to say, I enjoy your show all of themđ
Tommy's Joynt is amazing. I love this place.
I remember Tommy's joynt. Ate there a few times in the late 60's. Food was ok. The Jack Tar Hotel use to be right across the street from Tommy's!!!
Great to see old fashioned food being made and sold. No Asian, indian stuff.
I think the only change at Tommy's was the huge sign outside that had a women with a "low top" the sign said "big beautiful " and "sandwiches" on the bottom, they removed the woman from the sign
oh and Guy, he's a saint
This is awesome! I love watching this show! I've been watching this for years! =] Never get old wit it.
Such beautiful s0o tasty and deliciously mouth-watering âïžâ€ïžđ„©đđđ„đ€
There's nothing fancy about Tommy's; it's a throwback to good ol' working class San Francisco. The best way to spend a cold, dark, foggy day in The City is having a tummy-filling plated lunch or sandwich at Tommy's. đ€
Been to Tommy's a couple times. At my first buffalo meat burger there.
So America admires a guy who has elevated childishness and chewing with his mouth open to an art form. Including acting like a kid sticking his finger into food in violation of Health Dept regulations. That is the reason I quit watching the used car salesman because his degree is in hotel management not being a Chef.
CHAPS in Balmur! Love that place. Rich made my sandwich and noticed I was wearing a tshirt from my alma mater, one of his kids went there.
Tommyâs joint is the 1!!!
Tried it was pretty bland food
you know numbers. you choose what you want to
Looks good.
0:54 Same roast beef, same turkey, same stews, TRIPLE the prices since the pandemic.
tommys joynt has gone downhill
Only wish we had that in Sydney
Sorry but, Tommy's has not been a local neighborhood favorite for 20+ years. The quality of food is nasty. We used to get food from Tommy's for company events, we stopped many years ago. I understand trying to push something to help them out but, the food at Tommy's is not good.
Guy smoked some Ganj before this visit!!! đđđ J/k
This place is not what it used to be
When Tommy's Joint closes, it would not be a surprise. But I used to only get the corn beef dinner. It's terrible parking and most locals can walk there.
Gotta have Pastrimi sandwiches đ
When was this that roast turkey was only $5.50?
Guy is cool.
Whenever this guy goes into a Kitchen, I feel like he dirties the whole place up, makes it unsanitary
And the food is not that great I live in Northern California. The food is not tender.
diahreah literally every single time
Is this a rerun? Or did he actually just go recently? They def closed for covid for awhile – I was afraid they wouldn't reopen but I know they're alive and well.
I eat there once a week itâs comfort food at its best
I used work construction doing night work and stop by often, I went there to get food to go. Workmates a the job site were soooo jealous!! Tommyâs Joynt food reminds me of going to your best friendâs grandmas house for dinner!!!! Yum! Itâs been a while since Iâve been there, need to do a roadtrip.
the joynt is over rated and over priced
Tough roast beef and watery gravy, I was curious but definitely not impressed.
Better watch out Guy, its San Francisco, they might add spugisakum in there for seasoning.
I was at Tommyâs twice last month. Still donât have nerve to try the buffalo. Hey is this a rerun. Guy did a Tommyâs a few years ago.
LAST TIME I WAS THERE WAS IN 1975. I WAS JUST THINKING ABOUT TOMMY'S LAST NIGHT…TURNED ON YOU TUBE THIS MORNING 12/20/2025 1:20A.M. AND HERE IS TOMMY…
Tommyâs is great value – simple and hearty- compared to how much youâd pay elsewhere. Friendly staff too.
Loved Tommyâs Joynt since I was a kid in the 60s. Still miss the free pickle barrelâŠ
Lamb shank! Thank you prophet Abraham!
Used to be Samâs Hof Brau out on the corner of Hegenberger and Coliseum in Oakland. Best place for food and drinks before a Raiders game!!!
They add sugar to everything. Diabetes city.
about 20 years ago myself and some coworkers did a cable installation for one of the owners of Tommy's Joynt . After we were done he invited us to visit Tommy's Joynt for a Free dinner On The House . It was so Good
No veins or seeds they burn with no flavor
