The Star Dishes
-
Tortelli di Burrata: These delightful pasta pockets are generously filled with creamy burrata, offering a divine melt-in-your-mouth experience that highlights the artistry of handmade pasta. With just the right amount of nutty sage butter sauce to complement the rich filling, every bite is a reminder of true Italian craftsmanship.
- Duck Pappardelle: Inspired by rustic Italian flavors, this dish features wide, ribbon-like pasta enveloped in a hearty duck ragu. The slow-cooked duck combines perfectly with the fresh herbs and spices, creating a rich sauce that clings delectably to the pasta. This dish brings comfort and sophistication to the table, embodying the spirit of Italian cooking.
Why Chicago?
Chicago is renowned for its deep-rooted food culture, and this pasta spot captures the essence of traditional Italian cooking right in the heart of the city. With its warm ambiance and friendly service, it’s the perfect place to experience a meal that feels both special and homey.
Cooking with Passion
At Tortello, every dish is crafted with passion and care. The chefs prioritize high-quality, fresh ingredients and the timeless techniques of Italian cooking. From creating the perfect dough to choosing the right filling and crafting sauces that enhance each bite, their dedication shines through in every plate.
Bringing It Home
If Guy Fieri’s adventure has inspired you to try your hand at homemade pasta, here are a few tips to get started:
-
Use Quality Ingredients: The type of flour and the freshness of the eggs can make a significant difference in your pasta’s texture and flavor.
-
Kneading is Key: Don’t rush the kneading process. Aim for a silky, elastic dough by kneading consistently until smooth.
-
Resting the Dough: Letting the dough rest allows the gluten to relax, making it easier to roll out and shape.
-
Experiment with Fillings: While burrata and duck may be the stars of the show, don’t hesitate to explore different fillings—think ricotta, spinach, or seasonal vegetables.
- Sauce Matters: Pair your pasta with sauces that complement its flavor profile. A simple butter sauce can enhance delicate fillings, while robust ragu will stand up to heartier dishes.
Conclusion
Join Guy Fieri on this unforgettable culinary adventure in Chicago, where homemade pasta is more than just a dish; it’s a tradition that transports you straight to Italy. Whether you’re a seasoned chef or a home cook eager to learn, the joy of sharing a plate of authentic pasta is something everyone can appreciate. So grab your apron and dive into the world of Italian cuisine—your taste buds will thank you!

Omg, real Italian food. I was sold when he said he gets his burrata and ricotta from Italy. Having traveled there numerous times, nothing here compares. Tortello's is definitely high on my foodie list.
Sounds orchestrated by the people infiltrating our government. They continually push for support for foreign countries to fund their foreign wars.
