Hamas Demands for Ceasefire: A Statement of Intent Amid Ongoing Conflict
In a significant development regarding the protracted Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Hamas has officially submitted its response to a proposed ceasefire deal to U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff. In a recent statement, the militant group outlined three "unequivocal" demands aimed at achieving a lasting peace and addressing humanitarian concerns in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas’s demands include a permanent ceasefire, a comprehensive withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and the facilitation of humanitarian aid to the besieged territory. The statement emphasizes the necessity of these conditions for the restoration of stability and security for the Palestinian people.
Notably, the group has also committed to releasing ten living Israeli prisoners currently held by Hamas militants. This offer comes alongside the proposed return of eighteen deceased Israeli soldiers, contingent upon an agreed number of Palestinian prisoners being released from Israeli custody. This exchange is seen as a pivotal step that could foster a more conducive environment for negotiations.
The unfolding situation has drawn attention from various international bodies and humanitarian organizations. Hani Mahmoud, reporting live from Gaza City, provides on-the-ground insights into the prevailing conditions, while Lindsey Hutchison, head of the Global Humanitarian Policy, Advocacy, and Diplomacy Unit at Plan International, weighs in from New York on the critical humanitarian needs arising from the conflict.
As the region remains tense, these developments offer a fragile hope for peace. The outlined demands by Hamas could serve as a foundational framework for future negotiations, but questions remain about Israel’s response and the broader implications for Palestinian governance and stability in the area.

Still wondering while fairness is not enshrined in Al Jazeera core culture. Now looking as if Al Jazeera news are being vetted by Hamas before they are broadcast
Where are the sanctions on Israel, Russia didn't do this much before it got slammed with 18 packages of sanctions and arming Ukraine.
Al Jazeera and there Pro hamas reporters want hamas to survive this war. Israel wil never allow this.
Israel should never agree to a complete withdrawal otherwise this whole mess starts all over again.
These people ain't ready
Israel is laying the ground work to split Gaza up in the way they see fit and Hamas lacks the military ability to prevent this in any way.
This is the reality on the ground. Gaza is a ruin and no one will finance it's reconstruction with Hamas still in power because everyone knows that Israel will flatten the area again if and when Hamas tries to attack again.
This is the simple reality of the situation.
The UN,the ICC,and all other countries who recognize Palestinians as a state should sign this deal as well, saying that if deal is broken again, that they will go after Netanyahu/Ben Gvir and others, including the USA
Khamas should do this, let all those countries be present and sign it as well !
The letter/deal should say that all aid and food trucks should be in,immediately all trucks,no more excuses no more lies, fuels, water and electricity, not controlled anymore by the Israelis nor the USA,it should be done by Europe, only by those who recognizes the Palestinians state
In that letter/deal,should be written that no one will snipe, nor bombed any house or car,nor any journalist or Rescue Teams or Drs
Schools and Hospitals etc should be intact
The Palestinians Authority should not kill, nor arrest any Palestinians and he should resign as well, its the Palestinians right to choose who they want
And if this deals should be broken again, that they will go after Netanyahu,Ben Gvir and all involved ( even if it means go to Israel )
The USA as well should be held accountable for their involvement and actions, locked up if they continued with this human slaughtering, enough is enough
No hostages will be released if the Aid/Food trucks arent in immediately without any restrictions
And open the borders !
No permanent ceasefire, no hostages. Period.
It started with Islam.
The people who can stop this are in Qatar, but they act like winners!
Hamas are in no position to make demands, they have lost the war and must surrender.
Cry me a river to the sea😂
No negotiation with the terrorists! You're labeling the hostages as CAPTIVES? Those hostages were taken out and kidnapped from Israel to Gaza.
Why are these completely irrelevant people from NY being even talked to?
They have no part to play in the future.
Might as well interview DJ Khalid
Hamas's actions caused the deaths of 60,000 palestinians and now they want Aid and basic necessities for the people of Gaza as if they cared All along !
WAR is Waste and Insanity !!!!!
Learn it
