Summary of "Happy Gilmore 2" Official Trailer (2025)
In this highly anticipated sequel to the beloved 1996 comedy, "Happy Gilmore 2" brings back the iconic characters and comedic charm that made the original a fan favorite. Directed by Dennis Dugan, who helmed the first installment, the film sees the return of Adam Sandler as the titular character, Happy Gilmore, a former hockey player turned golf pro with an unorthodox swing and an even more unconventional approach to life.
Joining Sandler is the ever-hilarious Ben Stiller, reprising his role as the smug, villainous golf tour manager, Hal, whose antics promise to add a fresh layer of comedy to the new plot. The trailer hints at an engaging storyline where Happy, now a seasoned golfer, must navigate the cutthroat world of professional golf while dealing with new challenges and old rivalries.
The film promises the same heartwarming blend of humor and sportsmanship that made the original a classic, featuring laugh-out-loud moments while reinforcing themes of perseverance, friendship, and following one’s dreams.
With a lively supporting cast and clever writing that taps into contemporary issues, “Happy Gilmore 2” aims to capture the spirit of the original while appealing to a new generation of viewers. As fans eagerly await this sequel, the trailer teases plenty of nostalgia, outrageous comedy, and, of course, Happy’s trademark style of chaos on the golf course.
Mark your calendars for the release on Netflix in 2025, as Happy Gilmore returns to show us that sometimes, it’s not just about the score, but the journey that counts.

The first one was unfiltered Adam Sandler at his best—channeling anger, absurdity, and charm into a cult-classic comedy that knew exactly what it was: stupid, loud, but lovable. Fast forward nearly 30 years, and Happy Gilmore 2 looks like a bloated, nostalgia-driven cash grab drenched in Netflix’s worst habits.
From the looks of it—tired, predictable, and smothered in “remember this?” moments. There’s no edge, no surprise, just a formula wrapped in Netflix branding and DEI-era polish, trying to be everything to everyone, and failing to be anything at all.
I see Becky Lynch and MJF.
looks funny.
That was Terrible! Not even most the old cast, cheap jokes but not in a good way. I was hoping it would be better, but its Netflix so its like when movies used to go straight to DVD. Honestly thought he would have put way more effort into this.
This movie will only be watched for nostalgia. Ill put it on while i do stuff and end up trying to watch it several times…
If you take 30 years to remake a movie, one that helped make you who you are; Try harder for all of us, this is pure laziness and lame.
Where’s “You can do it!” Rob??
The story actually looks pretty good
Anyone saying this looks dumb, I would say, what did you expect…
It seems to be missing the comedy… Got plenty of references though if you're into that kind of thing.
Mmmm nah. You can’t go home again.
Poor Adam Sandler he hasn't been funny since the 90s. Also the last time he made a relevant movie.
Oh man…if he's gonna make a sequel to something, thank the gods THIS was the movie he chose.
MJF, MJF 😂
This…looks like it will be awful
Way to reliant on callbacks
Why?
Another movie with his kids in it, trying to make his kids stars. No one asked for the Sandler kid's, stop trying to shove them down out throats.
I personally don’t think this was a necessary movie to be made…….
Sad
This ACTUALLY feels like the good old days. God bless Adam Sandler. We lost the 90's and early 2000's, but we still have a few people like adam sandler around to remind us how special and great that time really was.
….nah.
Boban😂
I wouldnt call it a cash grab (although I havent seen it yet). The cast looks excellent, and it looks like they really tried.
I see Eminem 😊
You are telling me Adam Sandler has not a single original exciting idea to present Netflix with… :::sigh::: 😮💨
My inner childhood is smiling so large right now! I'm 42 and never thought I see the day that Happy Gilmore got a sequel.
"You eat pieces of sh1t for breakfast?" Still the best line of the first movie.
MJF!!!!
So many joyless, miserable, pathetic humourless C's in the comments.
I can't wait!!!! Love Adam Sandler movies! 🙂
Please for the love of all that is holy, stop making movies
CAUTIOUSLY optomistic…..
How much money did Netflix piss away this time?
