Summary of Homicidal (1961): A Tense Exploration of Deceit and Madness
Homicidal is a psychological thriller directed by the innovative William Castle, known for his flair for showmanship in filmmaking. Released in 1961, this film blends suspenseful storytelling with the charm of B-movie elements, offering audiences a gripping cinematic experience that still resonates today.
The film begins when a mysterious young woman, played by the enigmatic Joan Marshall, commits a brutal murder in a small Californian town. This shocking event ignites a web of deceit, mistaken identities, and the fragility of sanity. Glenn Corbett portrays the character caught in the ensuing chaos, while Patricia Breslin and Eugenie Leontovich round out the cast with strong performances that enhance the film’s unsettling atmosphere.
Castle, famous for his use of gimmicks, introduced the concept of the “Fright Break,” allowing viewers to exit the theater before the harrowing climax if they felt too terrified—a bold move that exemplifies the film’s potent blend of tension and theatricality. His homage to Alfred Hitchcock is palpable throughout, as Homicidal skillfully employs suspense and psychological depth, with a story that keeps audiences guessing until the very end.
Overall, Homicidal stands as a testament to William Castle’s unique touch in cinema—a film that is as thought-provoking as it is unsettling, making it a must-watch for fans of psychological thrillers.

Really? Does anyone else see a chuckle here?
C'mon. Give this comment a Thumbs Up if you "get it". 👍
=> Hey , this is the best channel ever! So, Be Smart like Ol' Binyon H. and Subscribe. You ask "Why?"
Why, indeed. Because Binyon H's Mama didn't raise no fools. (raised weird-os, like yours truly but no fools.)
"I'm smart, and I'm your friend" (can you name the movie?)
The forgoing explains why you should do it too! Do it today!
(3 Dog Night's got nuthin' on Binyon H and The Four Gummy Evening. Wait… did you just hear that?!
Gave me the willies; It sounded like the 4 horsepersons of the Acropolis)
So, Thank you for your support.
(So, do you notice how many of us begin a sentence these days, with the interjection, "SO"? It's all good.
But you know what was effin weird? – It was use of the word "why" as interjection.
Huh?
Examples:
1) Back in '37, it was real cold. Why, we had to defrost our words so the folks could hear us"
or,
2) "Alloysious, you've gone and destroyed the Britney Spears Official Souvenir Pillow.
Why, Britney's got a Big Hole"
Binyon H. cracks up Binyon H. Too funny.
Q. Can we just get on with it Binyon? People have lives, you know. Binyon, "oh")
A. So as I enjoyed the flick, i sez to myself… I I sez… "Whoa Binyon. Let's run the comment thru AI. "
Yeah that's the ticket…. Binyon H. is showing all y'all the light, my Brothers and Sitters! "Can i get a 'Binyon' ?"🎼🎼
So, let's take a vote! All in favor of wanting to see this babble turned into the King's English via AI give a thumbs up.
(The Jack's English? What is a Jack? I mean We got King, Ace… Queen, and the number cards… and Jack.
You ever heard anyone in History say, "I AM The JACK of all Britain!!!" But I digress… waaaay too often)
Oh? What's that? The votes are in. The Yae's have IT!!!!
And here it is –
Formal with Elaboration
Ha. Miriam Webster? Really? Does anyone else find this chuckle-worthy, or is it just me? If you appreciate the subtle humor here, please show your agreement with a thumbs up! However, if the joke completely flew over your head, don't hesitate to leave a comment; I'm happy to explain and clarify any confusion you might have.
Greetings, esteemed movie enthusiasts! This channel is truly exceptional, and I believe it deserves your attention. Be as astute and insightful as the one and only Ol' Binyon H., and kindly consider subscribing to this channel! You might be curious and ask, "Why should I subscribe to this channel?" Well, allow me to enlighten you – why indeed! Binyon H.'s Mama instilled in him a sharp mind, and she certainly didn't raise any fools (though she might have raised a few quirky characters, like yours truly, but never any simpletons!). Remember that iconic line, "I'm smart, and I'm your friend"? (Can you guess which movie that's from?). The reasoning behind subscribing is clearly articulated above; it's a win-win situation, so take advantage of it now! Don't delay – subscribe today!
(Please be aware that 3 Dog Night simply cannot compare to the unique comedic brilliance of Binyon H. and The Four Gummy Evening. Wait… did you just hear that strange sound?! It sent shivers down my spine; it sounded eerily like the foreboding arrival of the four horsemen of the Acropolis.)
On behalf of everyone here, I would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank you" for your continued support and engagement.
Have you observed how prevalent the use of the interjection "So" has become in our everyday conversations and writings? It's become a common linguistic tic, and honestly, it's okay. However, did anyone else find it slightly peculiar how the word "why" was used as an interjection as well?
Let me provide a few examples to illustrate this point:
1. Back in the freezing winter of '37, the cold was absolutely brutal. Why, we literally had to thaw out our words so that the local populace could even manage to hear our muffled utterances.
2. "Alloysious, you despicable person, you've gone and utterly destroyed the Britney Spears Official Souvenir Pillow. Why, Britney's got a Big Hole!"
Binyon H. is his own best audience; I find myself laughing hysterically at my own jokes. It's just that funny.
(Can we move forward now, Binyon? Real people have real lives to attend to, you know. Binyon, "Oh.")
So, after thoroughly enjoying this cinematic masterpiece, I had a thought while sitting here. "Whoa Binyon. Let's see what AI can do with this stream of consciousness."
Yes, that's the plan… Binyon H. is shining a beacon of knowledge on you, my esteemed brothers and sitters!
Now, it's time for a vote! If you would like to see this rambling, conversational text transformed into a polished, grammatically correct version of the King's English (using the power of AI), please give this video a thumbs up.
(The Jack's English? What exactly is a "Jack"? We all know the King, Ace, Queen, and the numbered cards… and Jack. Have you ever witnessed anyone in the annals of history proclaim, "I AM The JACK of all Britain!!!"? But, alas, I digress… way too often, I know.)
Well that was a pisser!
There's another film like this starring Craig Stevens. Can't remember the name of it. Don't know which came first but probably this.
Now that’s one hell of a twist…he acted kind of weird actually. Boy they had me fooled
That Stepford wife hairdo is killing me.

When I looked up this movie, this came back.
"The film features a unique promotional gimmick called the "fright break," allowing scared viewers to leave the theater for a refund before the ending. "
I want my money 💰 back! Haha
Thought I knew the twist. Wrong! This is a very good film. Thanks, Mr. Castle! And Stream City!
The 1950s shirtdress with the full skirt. I've loved that style my whole life. My first and only was a hand me down from a friend and it was pink. Mom refused to put her girls in pink but she let me wear it. It was 1st or 2nd grade. 1963-ish. I loved my pink shirtdress.
Writing this in the Fright Break. Enjoying the film.
What a great movie … up their with Hitchcock. Hang in there for fantastic ending.😀😀😀😀😀😀
Holy Christmas, that was terrifying!!! And was a twist!
Why she act like Miriam Crane in Psycho
Great movie! Thanks for uploading!
Was that a man playing a woman or a woman playing a man?? Great job
For Star Trek fans this movie offers us an idea of what a young Zephraim Cochrane might have looked like. Cochrane was the discoverer of the space warp that made the warp drive possible. This opened up a new age of exploration that made the United Federation of Planets inevitable. Cochrane became one of the most important figures in human history next to Columbus, Balboa, Lindbergh, Yeager, Armstrong, Drake, Wright Brothers and others. Glenn Corbett played Cochrane in a Star Trek: The Original Series episode, "Metamorphosis ", S.2.9. (1967)
There’s no way this is a B movie, this is an excellent, quality movie. I had seen it when I was in high school
Well, that took a turn. Geeze, I did NOT see that coming!! 😮😮😮
I was just a kid when I saw this movie and it absolutely terrified me!
Warren reminds me of Jared Kushner.
Loved it! Thank you!
