Australia’s vibrant rock history was forged in the 1960s when the Alberts family introduced a rebellious sound that reshaped its musical identity.
Visionary Ted Albert spearheaded a movement to create an “Australian sound,” nurturing talents like the Easybeats, AC/DC, and John Paul Young.
Migrant influences, suburban grit, and pub culture collided to form a raw, electrifying style that captured global attention.
Alberts became a musical dynasty, blending hard rock anthems with pop hits like “Friday on My Mind” and “Love Is in the Air.”
This tale of ambition, innovation, and cultural pride immortalized Australia’s place in rock history.

Aerosmith was never the biggest band in America, and Joe Perry sucks as a guitarist.
Angus Young wasnt 16 in 1974. He was 19.
I love that Mark kept supporting AC/DC despite being out of the band, like going to that show in Australia with Brian. What a guy ♥
I love AC/DC and other Aussie acts. I listen to them everyday at least once. No lie. Beautiful and touching documentary.

I came for ACDC but the start of the doco was fantastic
Excellent doc! I've read about the bands that didn't crack the market in the US but this doc finally let me hear them. And I've always loved that stark Vanda & Young production – the best AC/DC albums will always be Powerage and Let There Be Rock AFAIC. Lots of details here that I wasn't aware of before…I was transfixed. Bravo!
I saw AC/DC 1976 in a small cumunity 30 minutes outside Swedens third biggest city……They was completely unknown and have to play on the small scen in Hollviken/Rotundan!!!!They was playing very load and not so many want to se them……Expect Danne Strahed who was a singer in a band called Chinox!!!!Bon and Danne become close friends after this…..Bon was a background singer in a similiar band in Australia…..The Valantines!!!
Thank you this Doco was amazing & the sound track to my life. You did this so well!!
back in black, I hit the sack
good vid
Th Acdc Is Th Best Ever Band
I was 18 years old in the U.S.Navy stationed in London in 1978. My roommate took me to this club in Camden called Dingwall's to check out this group called AC/DC. We were right up against the stage and out comes Bon and Angus and I was blown away! I think I lost my hearing that night!
Tie me kangaroo down sport. Tie me kangaroo down. Tan me hide when I've died Clyde.
Fantastic documentary. The "back story" to ACDC is The Alberts, the Australian sound and everything in-between that made them one hell of a rock & roll band. Very cool.
Wow ! what a great doco. I never knew the beginnings of The Easy Beats / AC DC / Rose Tattoo / John Paul Young / Flash and the Pan and the work that George and Harry did.
Thank god for the Alberts being around then to define some great Australian talent.
Guitar George and Harry name dropped in the Sultans of Swing, tells you a little more about their influence.
I have been a fan since I was 14 and I’m 62 years old – FOREVER A FAN!! I’ve seen them twice in concert (So. Cal) and the best ROCK STARS AND BAND EVER!!!
I'm 60 brother you couldn't play a pub in 1976 without let there be rock in the show
Im 64 saw AC/DC 23 times, but the best was seeing them with Bon Scott 3 times in the 70s.
Mutt Lang killed the AC/DC sound. Too commercial. Bon did not like Mutt. And he and Malcolm banged heads because Bon did not want to change their sound for anyone. They sold out and sounded too commercial for money. after Bon died. After Back in Black, frankly, their albums were nowhere near as good . I would bet they had Bon's notebook with his lyrics because after Back in Black, the lyrics stunk. Brian Johnson and Malcolm could not write like Bon Scott
Notice at the very beginning they have the lead singer from Angel City, another Aussie great band. Never broke in the US. But ACDC are simply a force of nature.
Seen AC/DC last night in Edinburgh Scotland there homeland epic 🏴🇬🇧🇦🇺😉🤟🏻
Proud to be Australian
Grew up dancing at school discos in the 80's
Sydney you will always Rock ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Ce documentaire est absolument magnifique.
Merci mille fois pour tout ❤
Everything is so temporary and short lived. It's so sad. Bon is dead, Malcolm is dead, Angus is a white haired stooped over old man. I mean what's the point of doing anything? How can the fame and money help you if yr dead.. I'm going fishing.
❤os Melhores do mundo ❤❤❤
.I am 77 years old and since l was 50, AC/DC has been my favourite band. This is a very good documentary. Thank you.
