An Illinois deputy is being hailed as a hero after coming to the rescue of a pregnant woman whose car was speeding towards a freezing lake. The heart-stopping incident was caught on camera and has since gone viral.
In the video, the deputy can be seen running alongside the woman’s vehicle, desperately trying to stop it from plunging into the icy waters. The pregnant woman inside the car was unable to stop the vehicle herself, as she was experiencing a medical emergency.
With quick thinking and impressive agility, the deputy managed to open the driver’s side door and bring the car to a halt just a few feet away from the lake. The woman was taken to a nearby hospital where she and her unborn child are said to be in stable condition.
The deputy’s heroic actions undoubtedly saved the lives of both the woman and her baby. His bravery and quick response in a life-threatening situation are a true testament to the dedication and courage of law enforcement officers.
