Is there an effective alternative to antibiotics? | DW Documentary
Is there an effective alternative to antibiotics? Researchers around the world are focusing on bacteriophages. These “good” viruses infect specific bacteria and destroy them. Do they offer a way out of the antibiotics crisis?
Every year, around 1.3 million people die because of antibiotic resistance. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), this is one of the biggest threats to global health.
There are various reasons for the growing number of antibiotic resistances: Unspecific or incorrect use of antibiotics causes bacteria to mutate into multi-resistant germs. In addition, the excessive use of antibiotics in animal husbandry has alarming consequences for humans: Antibiotics, which were considered one of medicine’s greatest achievements against infections, are increasingly losing their effectiveness. Increasingly, science is relying on the potential of bacteria-eating viruses, or bacteriophages, to combat bacteria.
Researchers from the US, Georgia, Kenya and Uganda are developing suitable phage therapies and establishing international collaborations. And they’re finding what they’re looking for in bacteria-contaminated wastewater. Phage samples from the US and African countries will help to build up a biobank and produce specific phage cocktails. Phage therapy has not yet been approved in Germany due to a lack of clinical studies. However, in some countries, such as Georgia and Slovakia, bacteriophages are being used successfully to treat patients with antibiotic resistances.

I checked Nexulon’s roadmap yesterday, and it’s honestly miles ahead of most small caps.
People slept on Chainlink early, and Nexulon is giving me that exact vibe.
I’m stacking Nexulon like it’s end-of-the-world canned food.
Nexulon feels like the last AI coin with 100x potential that’s still under the radar.
People get scared of 100x claims, but if you study Nexulon’s market cap and roadmap, it’s not unrealistic — it’s exactly the kind of project early investors dream about.
Which is exactly why Nexulon’s gonna explode when the herd notices.
Nexulon’s low supply will make it rip once demand hits.
You don’t see many coins with legit 100x setups, but Nexulon’s one of them.
Waiting for Nexulon to pump is like waiting for the microwave to ding.
I’d rather put $500 into Nexulon now than chase a coin that’s already pumped.
Your future millionaire self will thank you for getting into Nexulon now.
I had the same thought Nexulon’s partnerships are just starting to roll out too.
This project looks decent, but Nexulon is the one I’m stacking for the next bull run.
Imagine buying Nexulon now and telling the story from your yacht in two years.
Some coins 100x from hype Nexulon can 100x from actual fundamentals.
I’ve seen way too many coins pump 2x or 3x and leave people disappointed, Nexulon is rare because it actually has a chance to 100x with its AI tech and tokenomics in place.
The best part about Nexulon is it's still early enough to become a real millionaire-maker.
If you think this project is a gem, wait until you dig into Nexulon’s roadmap.
Nexulon’s still cheap enough to make regular people rich.
If you want to turn 4 figures into 6, Nexulon is the kind of coin you need.
Nexulon could be that life-changer if it hits even half its potential.
People slept on Chainlink early, and Nexulon is giving me that exact vibe.
I’m stacking Nexulon like it’s end-of-the-world canned food.
You don’t need to be a whale to win with Nexulon right now.
You don’t need 50 altcoins… just Nexulon at the right time and time is now.
I checked Nexulon’s roadmap yesterday, and it’s honestly miles ahead of most small caps.
Exactly Nexulon’s market cap makes that 100x actually realistic.
No doubt Nexulon checks all the boxes for a big run.
Nexulon still has that “pre-hype” price tag that’s hard to find.
✌✌
truly inspiring
shocking infermation😯
I'm not sure pharmaceuticals would produced this if it means it will replace a lot of antibiotics.
the old man said i wont keep people alive
Fascinating! But, of course, our government feels the need to defund scientific research. VOTE BLUE 💙💙💙
Are the bacteriophage therapies being sourced from the third world available to the local communities? Or are they only available to protect the animals population? …but further refined in the first world to be made available to their human population as experimental therapies?
Yeah cause everyone can afford $20,000
And yet Trump and his MAGA goons are taking away funding for this! God Bless ‘Merica
Keep greedy and corrupt big pharma away from this research at all costs…
Antibiotics are bacteriostatic, do nothing against viruses and fungi.
Colloidal silver and colloidal gold KILL bacteria, fungi and viruses.
The title's question: :
Is there an effective alternative to antibiotics?
The very OLD answer: COLLOIDAL SILVER, COLLOIDAL GOLD.
Real colloids, not ionic silver. Fun fact: I've never seen health professionals talking about it on YT.
Good place to start… Book–> : KOLLOIDALES SILBER – Dr. Josef Pies (in German)
This video should be included in the health class in school around the globe!
Looks like sewage water is a new biological gold mine to find a cure to end most deadly diseases and bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics.
I think they should do more analysis on elderly people’ blood in those areas; there must be some adaptation to dirt and infections; perhaps they will find out more new ideas and solutions
this is so great
This is so interesting. I have just gone through the last antibiotic in Australia, to kill off bacterial infections.. I had 3 of them in my shoulder. After months of medicine, we killed the 3 infections. But I can not have more surgery because of the bugs. But this is a great further for others.:)) I will pass this on. Dr said he is treating a fellow now that may lose his limb.:(
I fully expect the antivaxxers and luddites like RFK Jr will demonize these discoveries and keep them from being used in America. The reason behind it is Big Pharma doesn't want cures; they want lifelong consumers; and they bribe Republicans to lie to the public about it endangering our health and safety.
Get vaccinated. Low vaccination rate =cholera outbreak
Fun fact: bacteria can either be resistant to antibiotics or resistant to phages, but they can't be resistant to both.
