Welcome to the real Bali ha!! It’s still a cheap destination. I was there back in May, stayed in Umalas near Canggu. Also stayed on Nusa Ceningan which is connected to Nusa Lembongan by bridge. In answer to your question, nearby Nusa Penida is Hindu as well. Enjoy your time in Bali. ❤✌️
Great to see you in a cheap place again. I was in the Philippines in January and even there prices were higher than expected. I'm traveling from Austin to Rome to Addis Ababa next month. At a minimum visiting Lalibella and the volcano lake in the Dakil Depression. Looks like Ethiopia is cheap. Thank you for the budget travel. Went to Anapurna Base in 2014 based on one of your videos.
Hi from West Java gabe! Enjoy your time in Indonesia 😎
Nice Video! Bali is indeed a great place to visit. Nice relaxed atmosphere with a great local culture. If you are looking into travelling yo India again, I suggest you consider visiting Kerala, Tamilnadu and Orissa.
Gabriel, you responded to Cool Breeze in the last video regarding Paul Pena writing Big Ol Jet Airliner. Because of you, I just listened to his original version. My goodness Gabriel, it was absolutely amazing! Daresay I like it better than the Steve Miller Band cover, and I'm a diehard Steve Miller fan. Thanks so much, Gabriel. 🤗
Go to Labuan Bajo Gabe, only a couple more islands hop from Bali
New series, let’s go
As much as i like the greece content, i like budget asia gabe content
Bali again after 9 days haha
You should visit Java, In Yogyakarta there is the largest buddhist temple in the world, i visited it last week what an incredible place.
🎉
Southeast Asia is getting expensive. In BGC, Manila there was a point where hotels were like $250 – $300 USD range, which is absolutely absurd. I am from NY and that's how much you'd pay for a hotel here. Filipinos have somehow convinced themselves to think BGC is the equivalent of Manhattan but it is nowhere remotely similar to Manhattan. Even Providence, RI is much bigger and has much more stuff to do than BGC.
You only go to countries where you can get alcohol. Is that correct?
I called it
Hoping for at least 1 Komodo Dragon 🙂
Oh man I was supposed to be there this week! Maybe will see ya in the upcoming month or two in SEA. Cheers!
18:52 I first heard(read) about Bali in Charlie Chaplin's Autobiography book back in 2009/10. When Charlie came with his brother Sydney, most Balinese Hindu Women still did not wear any tops, walked bare chest and he said he filmed it; I youtubed it and saw the video – it was unfrikinbeliveable..
Gabriel Traveler Best Fiji Beach ranking-> no crowd 😂
Wow what a beautiful place!! The prices you show are incredibly cheap compared to other places. Ya I may have to add this to my bucket list. Thanks so much for posting this Gabe! Cheers!
Maybe you can just hop across to the Andamans. A lot of things have changed since you last went there. There are a lot more island ferries to all the islands.
Mushroom shakes 🍄
your videos are stressful to me, planning your next moves, constant anxiety, you seem to have lost focus of life
Hi Gabriel, any plans to visit Malaysia? It's more expensive than Indonesia but way cheaper than Europe.
Hi Gabriel, I'm texting from the next block of Canggu here. Me and my girlfriend arrived here yesterday from Nusa Lembongan where we stayed for a week or so. Before that we explored Ubud and went up to Kintamani/mt. Batur.
I just wanted to recommend you the Mushroom bay area of Nusa Lembongan. It is a quiet area with good food options and a more relaxed atmosphere than what we found at Canggu and Ubud.
If you'd like to have a beer tomorrow in Canggu it would be a pleasure.
Ps. Regarding services without fixed prices (eg. taxi for a day or fast boats to Nusa islands) – usually the offer is about double the price of the service. 150k is a normal price for a one way fast boat between Sanur and Nusa Lembongan but the guys at the ticket office would start with a 300k offer. Dream beach boat is a good one I'd say.
I gotta try Indonesian food 😊
Kuta is still "very Cheap;" stayed 2 wks in July (peak) on Legian, 10 min walk to the Beach. 2 diff decent hotels w/ Buffets for like $35 & 32. USD (Agoda). 2nd time there (last time in 97'). Amazed by what an incred Insane (overbuilt redundant) Gridlocked Tourist Trap it has become. Planned to go to Ubud, but I gave up on that (just trying to get there) and no hotels to be had "anywhere near downtown; 30+ km's out they start in the 70's – 100 USD. It took 1+ hr, to go 5 km to downtown Denpasar in a Grab, and 2 hrs back (I got out and walked). Grab is "a lot cheaper" than what you paid for a Taxi. Walking, on one of the narrow "Walled Alley St's to the beach, I actually "got Stuck (walking) in a Traffic Jam w/ Scooters & Vans" (It was an insane nightmare). Even the beach on a Sunday was "Packed." Never mentioned: "Bali's worst floods in a decade occurred September 9-10, 2025 (3 wks ago), w/ torrential rains causing widespread destruction, killing at least 18 people, and forcing thousands to evacuate. Also, Indonesian protests, riots, GOV Cack downs and arrests started in August 2025. (sorry for all the context but give people a clue).
Gabriel, what is your zodiac sign, because you like to be a lone wolf?
people say that SEA is getting more expensive but they need to remember meals are still cheaper than europe for western food, even when I was staying in Kata phuket I found plenty of places that served a hybrid western and asian quisuine and I was only paying 60-80 bhat for them meals $3-4, just need to know where to look!
Gabriel, Jansport or someone needs to team up with you and do some GT traveler backpacks or something.
Interesting 👍 I'm watching, but just a quick note to say that the music drowns out the voice when you present the restaurant menu.
