Class Act!
He wasn’t a good politician but he was a good man
Skin So Soft.
How is it that the most "successful" presidents take the least amount of responsibility when things go wrong?
Jimmy carter put a wreath around arafats grave? Thank god he waz a 1 term president.
Smart guy . As President …. not good.
Jimmy was the worse president before jJB took over that role recently. Jimmy was very weak. Just ask the Iranian hostages. How many days passed for those folks? Oh yeah, give away the canal? I remember him wearing a sweater in a tv interview claiming we had an energy shortage as he told us to turn down the thermostat to save energy. Ugh.
I'm from Americus, Georgia, which is about 15 minutes from Plains. I've come into contact with Mr Jimmy and Mrs. Rosalynn many times over the years. I always considered myself a Republican, but, I will say I had tremendous respect for them both. They were always kind and remembered my name even if they had not seen me in a couple of years. I once volunteered for a Habitat for Humanity build in Valdosta, Georgia that the Carter's were part of. Mr Jimmy worked harder than many men half his age. Rest in Peace President Carter or as we referred to you here in South Georgia, Mr Jimmy.
Jimmy Carter's legacy has aged like fine wine whe Reagan continues to rot in the ground.
I was at the Carter Library earlier in 2024. Carter was a disaster president, and Reagan was one of our greatest presidents. His library was small and modest, like his accomplishments. Jimmy and Roslyn, you are entitled to your opinion, and we're entitled to ours. Reagan won two massive landslide elections. History has continued to judge you as a terrible president, and Reagan is judged very well.
Rosalynn saying that her grandchildren are going to have to pay off the debt is some immense foreshadowing.
Trump never comprehends complexity of issues like Jimmy Carter mastered.
Jimmy Carter is has pure as they come. I think this is the end of the era of pure. May God smile on America 🇺🇸.
Folks: The End of the interview. What ya'll think the difference between Ted Kennedy and Trump unelected & electable? Thanks. Peace
EVERY President will have critics. You CANNOT please everyone. He was definitely not the worst of them!
I love listening to intelligent and articulate men who were Presidents of the U.S.
Take note current generations…U.S. Presidents are usually intelligent men with integrity.
What a smart, honest and capable president. Unfortunately then and now, many folks don’t appreciate THAT ☝️. Greetings from Mexico City🇲🇽✌️
Now second-worst President behind Biden
Definitely a good man he was the right man but at the wrong time.
Jimmy Carter was an awful President who was a bitter loser after Reagan cleaned his clock in 1980 with a 44 state landslide. He then proceeded to undermine every US President after his term. This interview was such an embarrassment.
One of the worst presidents in american history, great man, father, friend, terrible leader.
You folks must not have lived during his presidency. 444 days for the Iranian hostages. It was because the world knew he was weak, like the current president. Highest inflation ever. Interest rates skyrocketed. Gas shortages. Don’t let “he was a good guy” overshadow his awful leadership. Worst president in my 55 years and probably in history.
The Carters were right.
There was intense bitterness and resentment from Carter all throughout the Reagan years. This really shines through here.
A decent man but he should have never been President. He was clearly out of his depth in the White House and it showed with Iran. A nation invading sovereign American soil and taking our citizens and diplomats hostage is an Act of War. We should have responded thusly. Carter failed in that regard. Also, he tried to sell to us the mentality that we should "settle for less." Leadership and strength (Reagan) will outshine fecklessness and ineffectiveness (Carter) long from now.
Rest In Peace President Jimmy Carter
Jimmy Carter always looked 100
last of the greatest president… since his president, american went down hill without ski…
He predicted the future state of this country and Washington DC laughed in his face.
Imagine CBS? A Mike Wallace today?
The world of 1990 was vastly better than the world of 1980 and the world of 2000 (after another 10 years of Reagan’s policies under Bush and Clinton) was better still. Anyone want to bet on a rematch of Reagan vs Carter if it were held today?
They are both very bitter toward Regan!
I really wish Ms Rosalynn could’ve done more interviews. I love her voice. It’s comforting to me.
Carter was absolutely right. Reagan took responsibility for absolutely nothing, only credit, and for things he didn’t do. Just like today. GOP is still the same. Just wait. The incoming administration will blame the previous administration for all that goes wrong, just as he will take credit for all that was accomplished during that same period. The Carters hit the nail on the head. They are the winners in the end.
Carter was too focused on the rest of the world while Americans were dealing with high inflation and gas shortages and a fragmented government.
Carter looked 75 here.
He was the awful one.
5:57 talking about Trump
Yes!! He and Rosalind were both correct about Ronald Regan!
SADLY, Carter and his wife were proved WRONG! His policies WERE THE PROBLEM. If Carter had his way, the Cold War would have continued for another 25- years. If the deficit increased under Reagan we at least had something to show for it–a far better economy, a stronger military and the demise of the Soviet Union! In 1985, Reagan would DEMOLISH Carter's Vice President (Mondale) in a far bigger landslide. If it were not for Watergate, Carter would never have become President–and Ford lost in a close one!
