Video “Lesley Stahl on interviewing the “band” Spinal Tap” was uploaded on 10/06/2025 to Youtube Channel 60 Minutes
ok, It is a real band. its just a fabricated career story.
Clearly Lesley doesnt get the joke. She as possibly the rose choice to do the interview. She just doesn't get it.
Curb owes its entire premise to Spinal Tap…as do all tv shows that have no set script.
Never got this movie. About a fake band like in the tv show The Monkees. Why do a remake. Hollywood has really ran out of ideas.
Too much perspective
The new movie was great. It had more heart than the original.
She completely missed the point of ‘Spinal Tap.’
They sounded like a real band because they are a real band. They're a parody band, but all three are excellent musicians, and they play their own instruments.
This is painful to watch– Leslie Stahl explaining the joke for 15 minutes like she's talking to someone's Grandmother who doesn't get it.
In a way, this “band” is like The Monkees. They started out as a film band … but, became the real deal! “Spinal Tap” have now released 4 albums and done around 5 tours. If that isn’t a band, than what is? ( And, let’s not forget their other alter-egos The Folksmen.). The fact that Lesley Stahl was a little confused … Brilliant! That’s comedy!
Straight up started giggling out loud—can’t wait to watch
Thx
They are actual musicians, play all the music, their comedy is brilliant and spontaneous. I still can't get over
"well, these amplifiers go to eleven".
Her over explaining the premise of the band is the biggest joke.
Movie was solid. But the end was damn brilliant. Wonderfully ironic.
Loved the sequel, great mix of humor and poignant moments. 🙂
Lesley Stahl and 60 Minutes USED to go after corruption. Now they are part of the corruption.
My son and I went opening weekend to see the movie. It was awesome def check it out. 🤘
Gwad, I remember when it was 60 minutes not 60 years. It's like tales from the crypt.
I would totally buy Stonehenge Artisan Water!
Christopher Guest is also a genius as a director. See Best In Show, Waiting For Guffman and.
A Mighty Wind, satirizing dog show people, town theater people, and folkie culture of the 50’s and early 60’s respectively. As satire they are dead on and hilarious. But the genius of his films are that they make you laugh not so much at the characters, but with them. At the end of the films, , the characters seem pathetic on the surface, but you leave the theater with admiration for them. They are falling ( way, way ) short in their single – minded endeavors, but they are living authentically—something many ppl don’t do.
The best scene in the movie is when rob Reiner is talking to the guitarist where he’s talking about the Marshal amps and how superior they are because all other amps only go to ten and Nigel Tufnel says “but these go to 11” one of the best lines in the whole movie!
Genius
I saw them at the universal amphitheater maybe 25 to 30 years ago amazing they have sustained. Geniuses
Bass player looks the same
Fake band??
Nigel tuning the violin is still the best thing ever
I really wonder why the box office was so low for this — but then it hit me, the first movie did not get its legs until it hit home video. So maybe that was it. Though I still would pay "dollar theater" prices to see it in the theater even though it's already streaming.
I will never understand why people like Spinal Tap or the movie.
I came to watch this but then remembered 60 Minutes are cowards.
Amazing 🤩 ❤
Dinosaurs interviewing dinosaurs. Cool!
Meathead and 60 Minutes are both partisan hacks at this point.
Weewww done boys!
She's not a journalist she's a liberal activist.
Hey Leslie, Trump was right and you are now forever known as a propagandist not a journalist. They did spy on him, 60 minutes should have run with the story not spread misinformation like they did.
“when Rob Reiner first conceived of the idea…..”??? uh, no, sorry Leslie…..Christopher Guest is the genius behind it all…..
What a completely oblivious dolt of a "reporter." So outside her element. Typical of 60 Minutes. Ancient crows trying to understand parody. Plus…Spinal Tap was NOT Reiner's first movie! As far as scripts are concerned, yeah, Leslie; It's called improvisation! A group of comic geniuses playing off of each other. Kind of the opposite of your "fake news" world of BS, TDS and globalist ignorance.
This go to 11 funnest line every
Spinal Tap is a good band pretending to be a bad band who are pretending to be a good one.
Glad to see them back…..Oh I thought Rob Reiner said the country was is shambles due to Trump? He looks pretty comfy to me. Hey Rob, any comment on the recent middle east Peace Deal by the dictator?
Does this woman not have a sense of humour??
Harry Shearer is so quick.
🎉😅 as always she's asking the tuff questions… Great interview Great movie, once again 👍
Great except for Rob Reiner
So much for actual, serious news reporting.
