Why is she so still?
Because each country entered two songs in 1956, this is the only Contest to date where the country who performed second in the running order went on to win. However, âRefrainâ was performed ninth. Switzerlandâs other entry, âDas Alte Karussellâ (also performed by Lys Assia), was the song performed in the second spot of the running order.
But the Curse of Number Two still exists because no song performed second in the Finalâs running order has gone on to win.
