Looks like a very nice town to base yourself in. Yes very chilled. Looking forward to your Slovakia adventures. Cheers!🍷🏔️
Must say that Poland is much more develop than Slovakia ! Slovakia looks like is 20 years behind Poland ! I think I do prefer visit Poland !
I believe Poland is a more prosperous country. A very typical mall: empty.
Ahoy, Gabriel! Poprad is nice but take the train to Presov or Kosice for a nice old town. The co-cathedral of Saint Nicholas in Presov has a bell tower you can climb for a great view. Great to see you made it to Slovensko!
00:18– But, what did you eat / what were you served?
I like busier, more cosmopolitan cities.
nice life!!✌
24:50 — I love malls!
Much better that you tell us what you ate at the end. What is that white sauce, please?
As an American Slovak, I would recommend to you to research Slovak hot springs, caves and castles. This country has plenty of those and they are worth visiting. There is cheap and easy train and bus transportation available in Slovakia. Spis castle is around one hour from Kosice, by train or bus, or one hour 16 min by bus from Poprad. In Poprad is Aqua City, thermal waters waterpark.
Gabe stop going to tourist restautnrs
I had a strong difference of opinion with my friend in India (on Whatsapp) . My friend is of the opinion that the world renowned shoe manufacturing brand Bata originates from Czechoslovakia but I said that it was true but technically it originates from Slovakia since Czechoslovakia has become the Czech Republic whose (capital city is Prague) and Slovakia (whose capital city is Bratislava)
$27 for Breakfast ??? Good God😮
Hostel 2005 showed me everything I need to know about Slovakia
Please make your videos shorter Gabriel. Nobody has time for several 30 min videos a week from you in 2025
i had an amazing time in slovakia last year, there is an amazing guest house in Radovljica run by an artist and her family called Villa Jasna that we stayed at for 10 days, an amazing area about 4 hours hike from lake bled and the smaller lakes, i recommend you go there and if you do pls say joe and froso say hi! x
Welcome to Slovakia, Gabriel!
You should visit Banská Štiavnica.
It’s a magical town – you’ll love it. And dozens of lakes perfect for swimming here 🙂
My first impression of Slovakia was the following. In 1990 after the fall of the Communist dictatorship I decided to visit friends in Southern Poland. Starting out by car from Vienna I drove through Hungary with no problem whatsoever. At the Slovak border I was stopped by a solitary machine gun toting soldier. I explained I was only crossing the short distance in Slovakia to Poland. The soldier left to consult with his superiors and on his return demanded US Dollars 1,000 ! I tried to haggle but they wouldn't take less… I drove back to Vienna.

Hi Gabriel, my husband and I have been your fans for years. We love the Greek islands just as much as you do. Since we are from Slovakia, we would like to give you a few tips on what to see. We see that you stayed in Poprad, which is not such a nice city but has a nice old quarter, Spisska Sobota, which is the best choice for accommodation there. We recommend the Barborka hotel. In addition to the High Tatras, don't miss Banská Stiavnica, Kosice, Poprad, Levoca, as well as castles such as Spissky hrad, Beckov, Oravsky hrad, Betliar, etc. There are many ruins here. The traditional village of Vlkolinec is also nice, the Pribylina open-air museum, etc. There is a lot to see and sometimes the most beautiful places are the lesser known ones. Have a nice time here
lets be real. It looks like shit!
Sorry, I meant Bardejov, not Poprad, as a city to see … 😆
Gab, you missed that place between Krakow and Katowice, 'must see' for all Americans, that millions people all over the world go every year! That's pitty!
Bolt is the taxi app to use in this part of the world
So glad you made it to Poprad, such a beautiful, peaceful town. The train to the mountains from the town is spectacular!
I took the same route last year april with my friends. Tatra mountains/hiking trails with bear danger😏were amazing. In Poprad we stayed at hotel near by lidl and Ice Hockey arena. Slovakia feels very laidback and relaxed place in that area, good food and beer and i got a lot of Finland&Sweden vibes from the forests there, and of course Slovakia has mountains which makes the differance.
Budapest-Miskolc-Kosice–Spiska Nova Ves-Poprad-Zakopane-Liptovsli Mikulas-Ruzomberok-Zilina-Katowice-Zarbze-Gliwice-Wroclaw. Such amazing places on that area👌 I totally recommend 🇸🇰🇭🇺🇵🇱
My first impressions when I saw the quantity of your meal, was you were going to need a lot of toilet paper later on. 😆
Go to the part of Poprad called Spišská Sobota, that is historic part
If you didn't do it, you made big mistake 😉
Because Poprad its now just 6 village together = 1town
