Thanks for uploading. I love old movies and it is hard to find one I don't know. This one I haven't seen since I was a kid. The dancing parts are fun and I am a fan of the 50's fashion. The right movie sit back and switch off a bit from a stressful day.
What a long career for Bob Fosse!
It just doesn’t compare to the 1939 🎥. Didn’t like this one at all 😚
Tommy Rall is the greatest dancer ever! Bob Fosse was in awe of him — he effortlessly flys through the air, surpassing Fosse in skill in their dueling routine. He could do it all tap, acrobatic, ballet, act and opera singing! It’s a shame he didn’t do more movies and become as famous as Astaire and Kelly. He had an incredible talent and had the looks and charisma to boot!
Love your vids but please stop with all the ads. So many. Or make them the short ones.
Funny and entertaining—it helped me forget the stress and frustration of repairing the flat roof. Thank you very much! Dankeschön!
Everyone should know this. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever does not believe will not see life, instead, the wrath of God remains on Him. John 3:36 There's no middle of the road. Jesus said he who is not with me is against me. Matthew 12:30. Believe and repent God loves you.
Love all the colour and fashions of these old movies. I have seen this a few times, and it still entertains. I love seeing films that don't have "modern technology" in them. My only fault, is that the audio was very quiet, so had to turn the volume right up, then jump on my remote to mute the ads to prevent getting blasted..
You made my day! My Sister Eileen is my favourite of the musicals starring my Hollywood Ma, Betty Garrett, who called me her adopted third son and gave me a place to live for 10 years on and off when I was in Los Angeles doing research, interviews for my CBC Radio shows and serving as archivist for Johnny Green, George Sidney, Sammy Cahn and several others. In addition to Betty, I was fortunate in knowing eight of the other talented people who made this movie: Janet Leigh, Jack Lemmon, Leo Robin, Morris Stoloff, Fred Karger, George Duning, Arthur Morton and Larry Butler, who was Columbia's special effects director. Thank you so much for posting this underrated gem and making it available to a new audience.
Those poor women stuck wearing those goofy dresses and miserable high heels, not to mention the constant belittling they had to endure from those pompous, overbearing neanderthals, known as men😢Women have it better today.
Omg!!! I love this movie! It’s so hard to find! Thanks for uploading this!💖
Good movie 🍿-it’s a musical 🎵 comedy remake of the original film that starred Rosalind Riussell in 1942 -this one didnt do better than that!
1955. Bob Fosse has a definite style that he will use for years. The use of hats and certain postures. In addition, in several of the dances he uses the movements of Chaplin, Durante and other comics. That might have been the influence of Blake Edwards who loved the silent comics. Lemmon would make half a dozen movies with Edwards.
This is an empty calorie movie, notable only for who's in it than what it's about. Jokes are flat at best, cliched at their worst. It's a shiny penny you see on the street, only to forget that you picked it up and put it in your pocket.
Is that what Walgreens really looked like back then?😮
Great movie! 50s movies were so good. They set out to entertain and succeeded.Todays movies are all CGI and AI .Clever and spectacular but no soul!!
Well if this musical remake is a bit on the nose watch the 1942 straight version Rosalind Russell at her fabulous best!
Could be a really great and fun movie without all this totally unnecessary dancing. Nevertheless: Thanks for uploading and sharing.
What would be our world without ridiculously high rent for run down shacks and the disaster on wheels over at the cartrade. Well, no Art whatsover just milk and honey boredom 😊 Dankeschön from Munich
Love this movie
Thank you Stream City YOU ARE MY FAVOURITE CHANNEl . Always naming the movies. The rest is DO NOT RECOMMEND this channel. ❤🤗
Love this movie i have it great actors and wonderful music great dancing dick York does great with the dancing and singing do you have under the yum yum tree love it jack lemon plays a bad guy playboy type seducing women in his apartment building
Okay musical version of "Eileen." Good cast try their best to make it work. The studio couldn't get the rights to the vastly superior stage musical "Wonderful Town." The highlight of this one is the challenge dance between Tommy Rall and choreographer Robert (Bob) Fosse.
