So many taxis at the airport to get to a hotel. But great tips at Saigon Airport
I'm glad that Bus ride was over. That was quite the long wait to just wait for the 109 to come…
But excellent video as always, very informative. Thanks AK! 😎👍
One interesting fact that the bus company which operates 109 route, use Russian minibuses Gazelle City! For me, as a public transport enthusiast, it looks unusual and surprising. Also there are some buses from Belarussian bus factory – MAZ in Vietnam.
As a person who live in Russia and as your old subscriber I just thank you for this video!!!
What pros and contras did you experienced in Gazelle City bus? Was it comfortable or not? In Russia, sometimes I use these buses in Moscow region and for me it is more uncomfortable, because of small space between seats and with no air condition in summer… What about you?
But the main problem of bus system in Saigon, as I see from your video – is the lack of high capacity buses. Minivans and midibuses are the dominant form of transport, without low floor and with narrow doors, it leads to overcrowding and inaccessibility. There are small number of bus lanes as well. Transport cards are also needed to expand as a payment instrument in public transport of the city with several million population. But there are a lot of progress in comparison with Saigon buses in 1990s.
I wish to all public transport of Vietnam futher development and expansion!
Dang AK, you rode on the minibus to city center from Saigon Airport as a tip.😎 Thanks for sharing that helpful tip Action Kid!😌🤗🥹😇
The blue buses are government public buses, the orange bus is a private owned company by Phuong Trang group. I assumed the blue buses come every 15mins, and the orange comes every hour??
There are dozens of bus companies that take you to different regions outside Saigon, Phương Trang and Thành Bưởi are the 2 biggest with networks extended to central and northern Vietnam, they secured a spot at the airport tells us something. Phương Trang buses are orange with the logo FUTA or the actual name, they have their own AC waiting rooms at central bus stations hubs and minivan transfers from the bus stations to your hotels.
Local told me to take Phuong Trang and I didn't listen, I assumed all buses were the same, at central bus station hub with many booths from different bus companies, I looked for booths that showed the city I wanted and they dropped me off in the middle of nowhere in the rain. Phuong Trang is big, their sleeping buses will drop you off at big stops or their own built stops with clean WC for washroom breaks, other bus companies drop you off at local side road stand with dirty washrooms. I'm glad to see it again because PT bus was off for sometime after the pandemic. Thanks for showing us!
Thanks AK good info 👍🏽
They said 2023-2024 Tan Son Nhat received 40-41 millions passengers, while terminal 1 and 2 capacities were 28-30 millions, sometimes planes delayed 3-4hrs and most times they had to swirl in the air try to land, that explains the long wait at custom. Maybe this is why they have to build 20millions capacity terminal 3 when they already building the new Long Thanh airport. They gotten smart now so they build 2 runways for Long Thanh airport to avoid future expansion delays, more time and more expensive, but they learned their lesson.
Terminal 3 at Tan Son Nhat will be trouble for people from out of town, it's on the other side disconnected from the existing airport, if people arrived late and traffic is bad, taking a cab to the other side is something else.
Another awsome video ❤❤❤❤
