New Emergency Braking Regulations Revealed for RHO RAM 1500 | MotorWeek Motor News – Video

The off-road pickup truck market is heating up and Ram is ready to make its mark with the new 2025 Ram 1500 RHO. This new addition to the Ram family is set to be the off-road king, featuring a powerful Hurricane Inline-Six engine with 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. Equipped with a unique suspension, active transfer case, and more, the RHO promises to be a beast on the trails.

In other news, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced new regulations requiring enhanced automatic emergency braking systems for all cars and light trucks by 2029. These new systems must be capable of automatically stopping and avoiding collisions from 62 miles-per-hour when detecting another vehicle and 45 miles-per-hour when detecting a pedestrian, with improved performance at night. It is estimated that these new regulations will save at least 360 lives and prevent 24,000 injuries annually.
