Spring is in the air, and with it comes the promise of warmer weather and the opportunity for long drives in our 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. In our recent Northeast road trip, we added another 2,000 miles to the odometer, bringing our total to an impressive 29,000 miles.
The fuel economy of our Outlander continues to impress, now averaging 29.3 mpg. This PHEV truly shines during daily trips around town, with the sophisticated powertrain keeping the gas engine quiet as long as the battery pack has a charge. The continuously variable transmission does introduce some noise when full power is needed, but overall, the ride remains comfortable and quiet.
One minor complaint we have is the resolution of the reverse camera, which we wish was a bit higher. On the other hand, we are big fans of the head-up display, which may be simple but is sharply visible and quite handy.
There are still plenty of miles to go in our long-term test with the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV, so be sure to stay tuned for more updates.
